The Ashland Boys’ Association was formed around 1900 by former residents who maintained a strong connection to their Pennsylvania mining hometown. For decades, the association brought the community together for Labor Day homecoming celebrations, continuing the tradition until 1976.

This week’s marker takes us to DeTour Village, Michigan, near the eastern end of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula! 🌊⚓ Located offshore in Lake Huron at the entrance to the St. Marys River, the historic DeTour Reef Light Station was constructed in 1931 and stands more than 80 feet above the water.
