You run a full cycle, open the dishwasher, and there's still an inch of cloudy water sitting in the bottom. Most people figure the whole unit is done for, but it's usually just the drain line, a clogged filter, or a pump that's worn out and can't push the water back where it belongs. An ice maker that's slowed to a few cubes a day, or stopped making any at all, is usually a water inlet valve losing pressure, not a sign the whole fridge is failing. Sometimes the fill tube behind it freezes over and blocks water from ever reaching the tray. Either one is a quick fix once we're in there, and it beats living without ice while you wait to see if it sorts itself out. We work on refrigerators and ice makers all across Georgia. A washer that fills and washes fine but won't spin at the end usually comes down to one of two things: the lid switch or the drive belt. The lid switch has to sense the lid is closed before the machine will spin at all, and if it's worn out, the machine thinks the lid is open even when it's shut. A slipping or broken belt does something similar from the other end, it just can't turn the drum fast enough anymore. Either way, you're left with a tub full of soaking wet clothes. Fall is when a lot of Georgia families start stocking the freezer again, soups, casseroles, whatever gets made ahead for busy weeknights. One burner on an electric stove not heating while the rest work fine almost always comes down to the infinite switch, the part behind the k**b that controls how much power reaches that burner. When it fails, you can turn the dial all the way up and still get nothing, or get stuck on one weak setting no matter where you turn it. It's a small part, but you can't see or test it without pulling the stove out from the wall, the kind of thing 35 years of house calls teaches you to check first. A dryer that tumbles fine but comes up cold every time almost always means the heating element has burned out. It's a coil that heats up as air passes over it, and once it fails, the drum keeps spinning like nothing's wrong while your clothes just get damp and warm at best. Most people run two or three more loads before they call, thinking it'll sort itself out. It won't. We repair dryers all across Georgia and carry elements for most major brands.
