๐จ NEW: 911 Nurse Navigation Program Goes Live TODAY June 2nd in Monterey County!
Weโre excited to share that Monterey County EMS is launching a new 911 Nurse Navigation Program โ and Marina is part of it! ๐
Hereโs what you need to know:
When you call 911 for a health concern that may not require an ambulance, dispatchers now have the option to connect you with a 911 Nurse Navigator โ a specially trained nurse who can help get you to the right care, at the right time, in the right place.
How it works:
โ
Call 911 as you normally would
โ
If your situation is determined to be less critical, you may be connected to a Nurse Navigator
โ
The navigator uses physician-approved guidelines to find the best care option for you โ urgent care, a clinic, telehealth, or home care
โ
If you need transportation, they can arrange it (including rideshare services)
Important: You will NEVER be denied an ambulance ๐ . If you want one, youโll get one. And if at any point the nurse determines you need emergency care, an ambulance will be dispatched immediately.
This program helps make sure our most critical emergency resources are available for those who need them most, while connecting everyone else to faster, more appropriate care.
Live date: June 2, 2026
