Introducing Southern Soil Supply
This has been in the works for a while, and we’re excited to finally announce it.
Clark Cumberland Contracting is officially launching Southern Soil Supply, our dedicated materials and hauling division.
We recently added a Sterling tri-axle dump truck to our fleet, and we’ve partnered with two other experienced operators to give us the ability to scale up when a job calls for more trucks.
From a homeowner needing a couple loads in the driveway to a contractor needing trucks constantly moving material, we’re building the equipment, partnerships, and network to handle it.
But this is about a lot more than adding another truck.
We’re developing our own material sources.
We’ve opened our own dirt pit and have begun mining a deposit of local blue rock and hard slate.
This is a material we’re particularly excited about. We’ve been experimenting with it ourselves for road base, construction entrances, driveways, and similar applications, learning how it grades, packs, and holds up before we begin offering it on a larger scale.
We’re also working toward producing screened topsoil from our own material in the future.
We’ll continue sourcing traditional stone, gravel, dirt, and aggregate products as well. The goal is to make it simple. One call for the material and the trucks to move it.
We’re building the technology behind it too.
We’ve taken this expansion seriously enough that we’ve developed our own proprietary hauling and dispatch platform with AI-assisted capabilities, built specifically around the way we quote, schedule, and move material.
The system can quickly calculate and generate quotes, coordinate and schedule trucks, manage jobs and drivers, and provide customers with real-time notifications as their material moves through the delivery process.
And this isn’t just an idea we’re talking about building. The system is already working.
We’re currently using and testing it behind the scenes while we continue refining the platform and adding features. We’re still a few months away from rolling it out directly to customers, but the foundation is built and operational.
Our goal is to make ordering material and coordinating trucks easier from beginning to end. We want customers to be able to get a quote quickly, know when their material is scheduled, and receive updates as their delivery progresses without constantly having to call and wonder where their truck is.
This wasn’t something we threw together overnight.
We’ve been working on the pieces behind the scenes for a while. Adding equipment. Developing our pit. Testing our own material. Building relationships with other operators and suppliers. And developing the technology to manage it all.
Now we’re ready to start putting everything together.
