๐Ÿšจ Seeing yellow or brown circles in your lawn?

You may be dealing with Summer Patch, a common lawn disease we see across Eastern Iowa during hot summer weather.

Signs include:
๐ŸŒฑ Yellow or brown circular patches
๐ŸŒฑ Grass that wilts even after watering
๐ŸŒฑ Areas that seem to spread during the summer

The good news? Healthy, properly maintained lawns are much better equipped to handle summer stress.

If you're noticing unusual patches in your lawn, send us a photoโ€”we're happy to help identify the issue and recommend next steps.

We had the honor and privilege of cleaning up Oak Shade Cemetery the end of last week in preparation for Memorial Day weekend. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

2 full days of full crews & 8000 clean headstones later.

We hope you have had a safe Memorial Day weekend to remember and honor those who have given it all for our country.

Ascochyta Leaf Blight

Ascochyta Leaf Blight is a common turf disease that causes large patches of your grass to turn brown and appear dead. Our weather conditions have been quite favorable for this turf disease lately. Unfortunately, fungicide applications have limited success and arenโ€™t typically recommended in treating Ascochyta.

While the treatments are limited, the affected turf grass will grow out within 3 - 4 weeks if growing conditions are favorable. The good news is that there are little to no long term effects on your lawn, though it is not always a pretty sight. Stay patient, keep up on nutrients, and make sure your mowing habits are not detrimental & it'll clear up!

Eastern Iowa clovers may look harmless but it can be a sign of nutrient problems in your lawn ๐Ÿ€

When clover starts taking over, it usually means your lawn is struggling. Clover thrives in weak, thin turf and low-nitrogen soil, competing with your grass for space and spreading fast across your yard.

Healthy, thick turf is the best defense but we know clover can show up even in great looking lawns. We've got you covered, sprays are starting!

Grub Control is starting! We get a lot of questions regarding this round - especially why do I need grub control if I don't see grubs? Short answer, you could have a beautiful lawn with grubs still wreaking havoc beneath without you even knowing it.

Grub Control is our most important round. It's a 3 in 1 w**d (w**d, feed, prevention), knocks down dandelion and clover, and a CRITICAL round if you're an irrigated property; grubs love moist lawns.

Grub damage can cause serious damage that may need a complete lawn renovation which could cost you hundreds to thousands of dollars to repair.

Eastern Iowa dandelions arenโ€™t just w**ds...they can be a nightmare for your lawn.

They spread fast, survive almost anything, and take over weak lawns before you know it. Their deep roots steal water and nutrients from your grass โ€” which is why theyโ€™re such a pain to control.

Healthy, thick turf is the best defense... but we know you may be seeing them in even the best looking lawns. We've got you covered, sprays are starting!

Mower height matters!

Thinking about buzzing your lawn short to save yourself some time between mows? We're here to tell you....NO! โŒ

Chopping your lawn too short will open your yard up for a multitude of issues not just limited to - nutrient depletion, w**d invasions, lack of drought resistance, & heat damage. We recommend keeping your mower height between 3 - 3.5 inches.

Don't forget to complete regular maintenance on your mower and keep those blades nice and sharp to reduce turf damage!
