This podcast reviews the astro energies—including the Mars/Uranus opposition--that led to a major wakeup call resulting from the U.S. off year elections on November 4. This wakeup call was for everyone: Both those in power & those who disagree with their policies.

The Medias Touch news organization put it best: “Tuesday’s results were an electoral victory for Democrats, but even more, they were a reaffirmation of democracy itself.”

Thus, we had the awakening amongst those in power who seem to suddenly realize that depriving people of resources such as food & healthcare is not going to happen without pushback.

And, we had the revelation amongst voters who disapprove of being starved, denied affordable healthcare, & made sick from watching people dragged off the streets & jailed—or worse yet deported--without due process rights, that democracy is still alive and well.

By the Ta**us Full Moon November 5 Virginia had elected a female governor--its first ever after a history of 74 former male governors--& NJ elected its second female governor. All of this speaks volumes about the Ta**us Full Moon’s emphasis on the awakening of feminine divine archetype.

In addition, when NYC Mayor elect Zohran Mamdani announced his transition team on the day of the Ta**us Full Moon, we might note it is comprised entirely of females. And that his team includes Lina Kahn, the former chair of the Federal Trade Commission during President Biden’s administration who fought against corporate anti-trust violators during her tenure there.

Also, as Jupiter was trining Saturn at this lunation, we saw its mythological meaning come to life as 34 year-old Zohran Mamdani was elected NYC mayor by the largest turn out of voters—many of them younger ones--since 1969. Part of the Jupiter/Saturn 20-year cycle, which began when the two conjoined in Aquarius on December 21, 2020, this represents a changing of the guard from the older generation to the younger one.

This theme was illustrated as well since influential California House Rep Nancy Pelosi, who’s now 84 years old, announced she would not run for reelection in 2026, thus ending her long-standing influence on the democratic side of the House. Another symbolic changing of the guard by passing the baton from the old “king” to the young one…

HOW’S THAT PARTNERSHIP THING BEEN WORKIN’ FOR YA?

Now in the waning portion of this month’s lunar cycle since it began with the Libra New Moon on October 21--which called us to plant seeds to better partner with ourselves so that we may become a better parter to others—there’s still a face off in the Congressional-caused government shutdown.

Trouble is that lunation was fraught with pitfalls such as its squares to Jupiter & Pluto & its opposition to chaos maker Eris & wounded healer Chiron, making this month’s mission harder than most. That righteous (Jupiter) control (Pluto) by the powerful would cause chaos and wounding (Chiron/Eris) to people seems now to have been foretold by this lunation.

Since today marks the 38th day & the longest government shutdown in history, thus far with no end in sight, we can see clearly now how the Libra New Moon’s mission to learn to better negotiate & compromise with others predicted resistance to compromise that’s caused a great deal of chaos & pain.

Californians voted in Prop 50 after deciding “the hell with going high when they go low” in the effort to counteract Texas’s attempts to gerrymander state maps to favor adding an additional five GOP seats to the House of Representatives. Again, a result of this monthly lunar cycle’s message that it’s time to push back rather than lay back & continue to be disempowered.

However, as we head toward the third-quarter waning “crisis in consciousness” square of the Leo Moon to the Scorpio Sun November 11, we’re asked to realize that the needs of each individual are what matter, and that lumping them into groups & dismissing their concerns will cause even more chaos.

The Leo Moon (“the people” in mundane astrology) are in tension with the leader (“king” in mundane astrology) who’s hell bent on ruling with an autocratic hand. This recent election, as we waxed toward the Ta**us Full Moon, will now lead to the realization that we are at a turning point here in America.

ONCE I WAS BLIND, BUT NOW I CAN SEE

Meanwhile, we have the Uranus retrograding back into Ta**us on November 7 & reentering at the 29-degree Pleiades point, which represents “blindness.” The question becomes whether the Trump Administration & Congress have been SO blind to what’s going on in the lives of its citizens that it’s actually adapted a “let them eat cake” policy & caused what’s now the longest government shut down in American history?

As Uranus backs into Ta**us, we have also the announcement that—due to the fact that federally-employed air traffic controllers (Uranus=flight) are going without pay causing many of them to call in sick, thus creating a shortage of workers. This is leading to a 40% reduction in flights across the country (Ta**us=slowdown.) This as we approach the Thanksgiving holiday period, pretty much THE most heavily traveled days of the year.

Next we have Mercury stationing retrograde in Sagittarius (also a delay related to travel) on November 9. This marks the beginning of the period where Mercury moved back from the fire to the water trigon, asking us to begin to review the question “what is the quality of my life?” as Jungian astrologer Erin Sullivan puts it in her book “Retrograde Planets, Traversing the Inner Landscape.”

Mercury will move back into Scorpio on November 18 & remain in that deeply volatile archetypal sign through its direct station on November 29 & until it reenters Sagittarius on December 11. Lots of time for us to review the emotional quality of our lives now & to discern where we may be clinging on to old emotional patterns that no longer serve us well.

By November 11 Jupiter will station retrograde in Cancer, asking us to review whether what we think we want is what our soul truly needs to be happy. This is a huge lift for some, given Jupiter’s propensity for pie-in-the-sky, somewhere over the rainbow, optimism & wishful thinking.

Jupiter remains retrograde until March 10, 2026, so the caution is not to get too disillusioned if efforts do not pan out as previously planned during this time span. Rather, look at the bright side given the current state of U.S. politics: THEIR plans to disempower American citizens won’t manifest as they thought they would, & that’s a good thing, right?

On November 12, Mercury retrograde conjoins with Mars in Sagittarius & perhaps we’ll hear some judicial thinking (read: rulings) about the U.S. Government’s attempts harm others. Could be about shooting boats out of international waters with no proof that their running drugs. Could be about the “war” Trump has declared against his own citizens by placing federal troops in American cities. Or perhaps through high tariffs that only end up taxing his own people. We shall see…

TA**US FULL MOON & MARS/URANUS OPPOSITION NOVEMBER 4/5 REMINDS AMERICANS: THE ROAD TO GREATER EMPOWERMENT LIES WITH YOUR VOTE! JOIN SHERI HORN HASAN for this week’s Astro News You Can Use @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking

As we wax toward next week’s November 5 Ta**us Full Moon it’s important to note that it will be highlighted first by the exact opposition of Mars in Sagittarius to Uranus retrograde in Gemini November 4. All eyes, at least here in America, will be on the U.S. elections that day.

On one hand, this Mars/Uranus opposition might mean a sudden about face in terms of voters’ preferences—at least for those who are going to the polls that day, be they Republicans, Democrats, or Independents.

“Most frequently this transit signifies the explosive release of tension through sudden anger against someone, especially persons close to you,” according to Rob Hand in his “Planets In Transit” book. “These people will make you feel restless & irritable, & you will blow up at them easily. Expect to have feelings of great impatience.”

“On the other hand, this transit can represent a time when your efforts to liberate yourself from unnecessary & inhibiting restrictions start to succeed,” Hand continues. “Now you can really feel that you are becoming free of these bonds….But you can expect considerable resistance from others & it will not be easy,” he cautions.

So, as we wax toward the 13’23” Ta**us Full Moon opposite the Scorpio Sun, which occurs at 5:19 a.m. PT & 8:19 a.m. ET, we may find that recent tensions revolving around tighter governmental controls drives more people to the polls than normal during an off year election.

Meanwhile, with Saturn & Neptune both currently retrograde in Pisces since their entrances into Mars-ruled Aries earlier this year, we continue to see the rapid dissolution of foundational structures, walls, & boundaries here in the U.S. government under the current Trump Administration.

As New York Times’ Op-Ed columnist Maureen Dowd put it on October 25: “We are awash in nautical metaphors as the president plunders and pillages. He’s a pirate--and not the fun Halloween kind.” Dowd add: “Congress is adrift. The White House is a shipwreck. Trump is marauding in the Caribbean. James Comey and Letitia James are being forced to walk the plank, and next up could be Jack Smith and Adam Schiff.”

“IN A WORLD THAT KEEPS ON PUSHING ME AROUND, I WON’T BACK DOWN”

While the Ta**us Moon wants peace, calm, & serenity, at the full Moon it reflects the light of the Scorpio Sun back onto itself—thus revealing the Scorpio Sun’s more controlling shadow side. Manipulation to gain or keep power--particularly through joint resources (read: taxpayers’ monies), s*x, & violation of trust—are undeniably currently in the forefront of the energy here in America.

Proof of this, as we wax now toward the exact Mars/Uranus opposition & the Ta**us Full Moon November 4 & 5, respectively, came when Mercury in Sagittarius opposed Uranus in Gemini exact on October 30, & we learned this from The Hill publication:

“The National Guard is building a ‘quick reaction force’ of some 23,500 troops trained in crowd control and civil disturbance that can be ready to deploy to U.S. cities by early next year, according to a leaked memo reported by multiple outlets Wednesday.

“The Oct. 8 memo, signed by National Guard Bureau Director of Operations…orders the Guard from nearly every U.S. state, Puerto Rico and Guam to train 500 service members. States with smaller populations, such as Delaware, will have 250 troops in their forces, while Alaska will have 350, and Guam will have 100, Task & Purpose”—a publication geared toward the U.S. military community” reported.

Let’s remember, too, that on October 8, we were waxing toward an exact Chiron/Eris conjunction in Aries, which indicated either wounding that causes chaos, or chaos that results in wounding—take your pick. What’s obvious, however, is that this pair was also opposed by both luminaries in Libra at the Libra New Moon on October 21, which also squared Jupiter & Pluto, setting up the energies for this month’s lunar cycle which is not even halfway through yet.

A PUSH COMES TO SHOVE MOMENT

As we reach the culmination of this monthly lunar cycle at the Ta**us Full Moon, it’s a push comes to shove moment, at least here in America. Soon, not only immigrants who look or speak differently from typical Americans (read: usually meaning white) but local protestors against the already ongoing invasion of mostly blue state’s cities will be in danger throughout the nation as well.

Meanwhile, the disabled, children, & seniors are being cut off from the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) as of November 1, when T-square is formed as Venus in Libra opposes Chiron & Eris in Aries & they all square Jupiter in Cancer that day. And that’s not even mentioning the astronomical rise in government-supplemented healthcare costs hitting millions soon.

By early morning election day, November 4, Mars enters Sagittarius at 8:01 a.m. ET, the MOON enters Ta**us at 11:16 a.m. & then quincunxes Mars @ 11:25 a.m. Finally, Mars then opposes Uranus exact at 12:30 pm. Hoo boy, that’s a lotta change over the course of only about four & a half hours from 8:01 a.m. to 12:30 pm ET. But there’s more—following that at 1:30 p.m., the Ta**us MO squares PL in AQ.

And it’s this aspect on November 4 that “encourages compulsive behavior,” according to Rob Hand. “Your emotions acquire so much momentum that it is difficult not to give in to sudden urges & impulses that may not be good for you in the long run, particularly if you have been trying to suppress your feelings.”

However--& this is a BIG however--this transit “is least difficult if you deal with your feelings honestly & do not try to hide them from yourself.” Given the fact that seven million people took to the streets on No Kings Day to oppose the current tyrannical nature of the U.S. Government under Donald Trump, it’s clear they did not hide their emotions from themselves—or anyone else.

Given that as a foreshadow, it’s not hard to imagine that this fixed Moon/Pluto square’s energy on the day of the election—along with the other aspects mentioned--may well result in a groundswell of support against current Scorpionic machinations designed to disempower the masses.

SUN SQUARES PLUTO, MERCURY ENTERS SADGE, & FIRST QUARTER MONTHLY LUNAR SQUARE: WHO’S BURNING DOWN THE PEOPLES' HOUSE? JOIN SHERI HORN HASAN @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking
FOR THIS WEEK’S “ASTROLOGICALLY SPEAKING!” PODCAST WHICH DROPS OCTOBER 24!

We’re in the early waxing stage of the monthly lunar cycle begun with the Libra New Moon—which formed a grand cross as it opposed the chaos-causing wounds via Chiron & Eris, & squared Jupiter as it opposed Pluto--on October 21.

This posed tensions around the area of partnership. Pluto represents power & control, as well as joint resources & other peoples’ money, among other things. Since the Sun’s been in Scorpio since October 22, it’s now ruled by Pluto.

So, as the Scorpio Sun squares Pluto in Aquarius October 24, we’ve already seen power plays, particularly those related to money, including taxpayer’s money (read: other peoples’ money) & its effect on the U.S. economy.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump is taking corporate donors' money to fund his $200M 90,000 square foot ballroom addition to the White House & has already begun the destruction of the East Wing there. Bear in mind that the entire White House building currently comprises only a total of 55,000 square feet. And that the estimate for this ballroom has now been increased to $300M.

Nothing speaks more clearly to the fact that million & billionaires now influence government policy more than elected officials' constituents than this. As my Capricorn mother used to say: “He who has the money has the power.” I hate to admit now that she was right.

Consider the symbolism: As the president of the United States takes corporate money to destroy a part of the White House—known for nearly 250 years as “the people’s house”--do we not realize that a sledgehammer is being taken to the U.S. Government as well?

The heavens are reflecting back to us the power plays occurring here in the U.S. as the government remains shutdown & funding for many different services—such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) which feeds 42 million people, including 12 million children in all 50 states—run out of funds November 1. And that government-offered healthcare subsidies will increase to the point of becoming unaffordable for many then, too.

Meanwhile, the symbolism of the destruction of the White House's East Wing, made possible by rich peoples’ & corporate donations, tells us that something is not right here. By the time Mercury enters Sagittarius & we reach the first quarter lunar “crisis in action” square of the Aquarius Moon to the Scorpio Sun October 29, will even more than the seven million who attended No Kings Day peaceful protests be spurred to speak out?

Especially since nothing screams "let them eat cake!" louder than selfishly destroying a part of U.S. history in return for creating a ballroom where international elites (some accursed of war crimes) will undoubtedly dance the night away after feasting on a banquet of delicacies first.

And still, no compromise between those who prefer to give tax breaks to the already rich & those who champion lending a hand to the less fortunate without automatically assuming such folks are scamming the system. If a 90,000 square foot ballroom isn't considered waste, fraud, & abuse of resources (privately funded or not), what is?

Like, couldn't those donations have been used to pay those workers deemed necessary who are still showing up for their jobs without pay during the government shutdown October 1? Never mind to supplement peoples' food bank supplies or healthcare costs, or staff the social security or Veteran's benefits departments?

This podcast reviews how such power plays have been undergirded by newly revealed violent rhetoric in text chats by the Young Republicans of NY who apparently yearn for the good 'ol days--of Na**sm. And have led to hate speech directed toward peaceful protestors in all 50 states, as we waxed toward the exact Mercury/Mars conjunction in Scorpio on October 19 & 20.

As all this is happening, we've also now got Neptune retrograde now reentering Pisces since October 22. He won't reenter Aries again until January 25, 2026, after he first stations direct in Pisces on December 10. We have the opportunity to go deep now & review what's happened since he transited into Aries on March 30.

You know, like the internet outage for several hours on October 20 that freaked everyone out. Did you know that 99 percent of all internet data travels through undersea cables? Sea, as in Neptune; Aries, as in movement, action, possibly aggression such as war. No wonder this administration is cavalierly waging war in international waters against "suspected" drug runners out of Colombia, eh?

Problem is, in true Neptunian fashion, especially as he enters his own sign of Pisces now, there seems to be some confusion about the difference between "suspect" & "proof." Let's hope that by the time Neptune reenters Aries next year, the worst repercussion will ONLY be continuing climate change heating up the seas rather than a violent war taking place there that kills more humans.

LIBRA NEW MOON SQUARE PLUTO & JUPITER & OPPOSING CHIRON & ERIS OCTOBER 21: KEEP CALM & CARRY ON! JOIN SHERI HORN HASAN @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking
FOR THIS WEEK’S “ASTROLOGICALLY SPEAKING!” PODCAST WHICH DROPS OCTOBER 17!

As we wax now toward the Libra New Moon on October 21, we can see that the Libra Sun opposes wounded healer Chiron, & Eris, the dwarf planet of chaos, discord, & strife. And that this opposition is forming a square to Jupiter as it waxes toward opposition to Pluto.

That this is occurring as we head into the nationwide No Kings protest day on October 18 is troublesome to say the least. Republican governors from Texas, Virginia, & Missouri have already called up their National Guard in preparation for these protests.

And that means, even before the Libra New Moon hits on Tuesday, October 21, that protesters must call upon their inner Libran archetype to emphasize their peacefulness rather than fall prey to any coercive actions by others who try to make them respond otherwise (read: aggressively.)

Billed as the largest protest in American history, millions will gather in all 50 states to protest the current policies ordered by President Trump & his administration since he took office in January 2025. The caution here is not to get sucked in to losing one’s cool, as the heavens are telling us that even the slightest provocation might land one in trouble now.

Given that political rhetoric has coarsened to the point of
becoming radicalized since Mercury, the god of communication, entered Pluto-ruled Scorpio on October 6, now is not the time to release anger in any way other than verbally.

However, the tension increases as Mercury will join Mars in Scorpio exact on late October 19/early October 20—depending on your time zone--making this waxing energy extremely strong on October 18’s No Kings day. Take this as a warning not to lose your cool now, whether you’re part of these protests or engaged in any other dispute personally with those with whom you disagree.

Rather, as stated, channel your inner Libran archetype to simply stay calm & carry on!

GIVE ME THE MAN & I WILL FIND THE CRIME

Meanwhile, more vindictive prosecutions were announced this past week as we head toward the Libra New Moon on October 21. The U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ), which has been weaponized against Donald Trump’s perceived enemies—as Attorney General Pam Bondi & Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche now serve as his personal lawyers--indicted former National Security Advisor John Bolton accusing him of releasing classified information to unauthorized individuals.

Whether the charges stick or not, the fact that Trump has stated publicly that he’s going after his “enemies” & is hell bent on “retribution” is clearly reflected by the waxing Mercury/Mars energy in Scorpio now. Trump has already forced his DoJ to indict former FBI Director James Comey, NY Attorney General Letitia James, & District Attorney Fani Will of Fulton Country, Georgia, (& others) against experienced DoJ attorneys’ advice & with little evidence.

“Vindictive prosecution” is a great way to define not only the Mercury/Mars conjunction, but also the Sun waxing toward its exact square to Pluto on October 24 & Jupiter’s current out of sign opposition to Pluto. All of those smell of “retribution” against one’s enemies through legal recourse.

The Scorpionic & Plutonic nature of these aspects, however, reek of underhanded methods to achieve one’s goals. And that is part & parcel of what the No Kings day protests are about. In the short-term, however, it’s clear that the U.S. Government shutdown is on peoples' minds as well, as the fight between the two congressional parties--where one refuses to negotiate & compromise with the other--continues.

Why? Because the capitalist-oriented GOP majority in Congress believe they are being “responsible” by cutting the federal budget’s Medicaid & Affordable Care Act health insurance subsidies—along with a host of other aid to poorer citizens--to offset the growing federal deficit.

However, they fail to acknowledge (though clearly they MUST realize) that part of the reason for the expanding budget deficit is due to the Big Ugly Bill they passed at the behest of Donald Trump which granted huge tax relief to the richest among us in the country.

At the same time, the same people who refuse to compromise accuse anyone who disagrees with them—particularly the millions of citizens (many their own constituents) scheduled to protest on October 18 of being members of Antifa.

Woe to the poor soul who doesn’t have the intellectual capacity to understand that Antifa stands for ANTI FASCIST. Or that this country has been anti-fascist to its core, particularly since its citizens fought & died during WWII against the FACIST N***s in Germany.

Apparently, they never read George Orwell’s “1984,” let alone understand that Antifa is NOT an actual organization. Rather, it’s simply a non-existent group made up by Trump & Republicans, labeled "terrorists," & designed to attack liberals or anyone who disagrees with them.

ARIES FULL MOON OCTOBER 6 ADVISES US ALL: FIGHT TO BUILD BRIDGES, NOT WALLS! JOIN SHERI HORN HASAN @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking
FOR THIS WEEK’S “ASTROLOGICALLY SPEAKING!” PODCAST WHICH DROPS OCTOBER 3!

At this Aries Full Moon—which occurs October 6 at 8:48 p.m. PT & 11:48 p.m. ET at 14-degrees & 8-minutes--reflects the light of the Libra Sun back onto itself, thus revealing Libra’s shadow side.

So what is Libra’s shadow side? Ruled by relationship & values-oriented Venus, Libra loves harmony, balance, equity, & fairness. In doing so it’s usually an energy that’s great at bringing together warring parties to negotiate & hopefully reach a compromise.

However, Libran archetypal energy can also tend to be confrontation-averse, thus bending it more toward “people pleasing.” Therefore, when the Libran archetype is prominent, individuals may acquiesce to their partners (read: go along to get along.) And by agreeing to their partner’s wishes most of the time, thus subjugate the desire to get their way.

In addition, Libran archetypal energy—because it loves to understand both sides of an argument—often finds it has difficulty choosing for itself (read: difficulty making decisions.) This is why those with Libra energy predominant are often labeled “fence sitters,” & can take forever to make up their minds about issues--ranging from silly to important.

Such continual/habitual indecision & acquiescence creates passive-aggressive tendencies based on hidden resentment. Libran dissatisfaction swept under the rug tends to build up over time, until the mound is so large that it becomes impossible to ignore. It’s only when forced into a confrontation, which is exactly what Libra has tried to avoid for so long, that true feelings are expressed.

NO DECISION MEANS “NO!”

What the motivated, ambitious, energetic, often impatient &/or impulsive, fiery Aries Moon wants at this lunation, as it opposes the Libra Sun, is ACTION. The more the Libra Sun can’t agree on anything or simply goes along to get along, the more emotionally frustrated the Mars-ruled Aries Moon becomes. And remember, the Moon represents “the people” in mundane astrology.

Let’s remember also that this Aries Full Moon is the apex of what began this month’s lunar cycle with the Virgo New Moon solar eclipse on September 21. We might recall that both luminaries were then opposite both Saturn retrograde in Pisces & Neptune retrograde in Aries.

This heralded a month where our attempts to plant seeds to serve ourselves through achieving better health--so that by being of service to ourselves first, we would then better be able to help serve others—were likely going to be blocked potentially causing potential confusion.

And let’s not forget traditional astrologer Bernadette Brady’s definition of the themes of this set of recent eclipses—the energy of which is still in effect & about which she wrote his in her book “Predictive Astrology”:

“This Saros Series appears to be concerned with the bringing to the surface of long-term worries about loved ones, health, or issues to do with paperwork or communication.”

It wasn’t until we experienced the first quarter “crisis in action” monthly lunar square of the Saturn-ruled Capricorn Moon to the Venus-ruled Libra Sun on September 29 that the U.S. Government’s resistance (& to some, its formerly hidden agenda) would truly block citizens from caring for their own physical health.

How so? Well, in the U.S., at least, it was midnight on October 1 when the U.S. Government shut down because the two Congressional parties could not achieve compromise on a federal budget continuing resolution (CR) to keep the government open & functioning temporarily until a new budget is agreed upon & passed.

Why? Well, in keeping with the themes related to health of both the Virgo New Moon AND the Virgo solar eclipse, the government shutdown occurred because Congressional Democrats refused to go along with the GOP’s CR. That is, unless the GOP agreed to roll back its cuts to funding American’s healthcare systems as part of the “big ugly bill” (BUB) signed into law by President Trump July 4.

This failure of the two parties to see eye to eye--compounded when the GOP refused to even negotiate by skipping town, thus rendering compromise impossible (read: passive/aggressive behavior)—has angered constituents of both parties.

IT'S ABOUT HEALTH, STUPID!

So, at this Aries Full Moon, we’ve got the culmination of “worries about health,” which is what is causing the congressional Democrats to refuse to agree with Republicans that cutting off healthcare subsidies through the Affordable Care Act for millions by January 2026 will not prove “healthy” for the nation.

“Roughly 15 million people will lose health coverage and become uninsured by 2034 because of the Medicaid and ACA marketplace cuts in the Republican megabill, the law’s failure to extend enhanced premium tax credits for ACA marketplace coverage, and other harmful ACA marketplace rule changes,” according to Congressional Budget Office estimates.

And let’s not forget about the announcements by the Trump Administration’s Centers for Disease Control (CDC) since the beginning of this month’s lunar cycle about vaccine restrictions. Then there’s the conspiracy-driven fabrication about Tylenol causing autism in children when taken by their pregnant mothers—despite no solid scientific proof.

Meanwhile, the ”paperwork” mentioned by Brady would clearly, in hindsight at least, describe the demand by “the people” for the release of the “Epstein files.” And how, since GOP House majority leader Mike Johnson refused to swear in the newly elected House democratic representative from Arizona who’d be the final vote demanding Congress do so, instead sent House members home so the House couldn’t vote to release these files.

Also at this lunation, we have the square of the asteroid goddess of health, Hygeia, to dwarf planet Ceres, known as the “goddess of the grain” ,further emphasizing the larger theme of health now. The former has to do with the prevention of illness & the maintenance of good health & hygiene; the latter with literal food, a.k.a., “sustenance.”

As I note frequently on my weekly podcast “Karmic Evolution’s Astrologically Speaking,” Ceres represents FAITH because when our stomachs are full, we don’t stress about where our next meal is coming from. And this in turn, leads us to a lasting sense of faith that we will never starve to death from of lack of resources, such as food.

We know also that U.S. farmers are suffering from Trump’s high tariffs on China. That’s because they have lost between $10-14 billion in soybean exports to China, which has purchased zero soybeans since May as the spring’s soybean crops come to fruition this fall. And that’s not even mentioning how much of these crops are either rotting in the fields or in silos or grain bins.

In essence, this has caused the Trump Administration to propose a bailout for U.S. farmers, to the tune of $10-14 billion, though “some Republicans estimate they will eventually need to provide $35 billion to $50 billion in aid to farmers hit by Trump's tariffs,” according to Politico. So much for the U.S. Government eliminating “waste, fraud, & abuse,” eh?

WOUNDING, SUFFERING, CHAOS, DISCORD, & STRIFE

At this lunation, it’s plain to see the current chaos & wounding swirling through the collective here in the U.S. as we approach the second conjunction between wounded healer Chiron & dwarf planet Eris in Aries on October 9.

What many people don’t know is that Eris represents chaos, discord, & strife BECAUSE in Greek mythology she was the sister of the war god Ares (Mars) who brought ADDITIONAL pain & suffering to the already wounded & dying on the battlefield. Classically speaking, she is NOT an archetypal feminist symbol--despite how many modern astrologers choose to portray her as such.

This prominent Chiron/Eris conjunction—a repeat of their first exact conjunction on May 26—reflects the pain, chaos, & suffering throughout the world, including of course not only here in the U.S., but in places like Gaza, Ukraine, and many more.

I would be remiss to ignore both the current pain & suffering related to the dire health situation in Gaza right now. And the fact that an incalcitrant government there refuses to open its borders to allow in enough food, clean water, & medical supplies to both prevent illness & death & to help sustain the general health of the Palestinian population.

Further, this Aries Full Moon lunation highlights Mercury in Scorpio’s square to Pluto in Aquarius, which perfects October 8, that represents “compulsive thinking” and how there are those who may try “to coerce others” by their statements, according to Rob Hand in his book “Planets In Transit.”

Despite the current peace plan proposed Trump, it’s clear that forcing one warring party to acquiesce to the other side without substantial negotiations—in other words, a take it or leave it proposition—hardly defines a truly “negotiated “peace plan.” For that reason, despite recent media reports, this blockage is likely to continue rather than result in a compromised solution in the short term.

And that situation mirrors the GOP’s current refusal to negotiate an acceptable compromise on the national budget so that the government can open up again and allow federal funds to flow once again. What’s missing is the “commitment” to honor the views of both sides & to hammer out an acceptable solution.

ALL PAIN, NO GAIN?

Venus in Virgo s*xtile to Jupiter in Cancer on October 8 may present opportunities for fortuitous generosity, particularly in terms of money & investments. However, that will happen only if the powers that be both seize such opportunities AND in doing so don’t exaggerate or overlook (read: get tripped up by) important details.

However, when Venus quincunxes both wounded healer Chiron & chaos bringer Eris as they conjoin on October 9, we may be in for some kind of relationship/financial “adjustment.” What that might be is hard to say, especially since we’ll be waxing then toward Venus’s exact opposition to Saturn retrograde in Pisces October 11.

Not known for producing warmth & tenderness, this aspect rather indicates the conflict that arises between one’s sense of duty & the discipline necessary to act on it. This may prove perhaps to be an important day in the negotiations discussed above, or in others prominent on the world stage by then.

As we reach the third quarter monthly waning “crisis in consciousness” square of the Cancer Moon to the Libra Sun October 13, we may well have more in the collective “feeling” the pain related to any still unresolved disputes.

It’s hard to tell, but Venus then moves into her own sign of Libra & opposes Neptune retrograde in Aries that day. It’s then that one side or the other may begin to fantasize scenarios based on wishful thinking they believe will solve their larger problems. Hopefully that doesn’t mean total acquiescence that creates more pain--or simply kicks the can down the road…again.
