SayvaServices, LLC presented to a room of seniors on the basics of how to use a cell phone. There were a lot of great questions.

I am also happy to announce that we will be working with the Ashland Senior Center to provide a tech support hour and presentation on various devices and tech topics.

This past Thursday we completed our first tech hour session at the Westborough Senior Center.
We were able to help 5 seniors which had multiple issues they needed help with.

One notable issue was a senior who had an issue with their voicemail not working. We found the problem to be with the setup and required help from Consumer Cellular.
We called Consumer Cellular and worked with the senior and Consumer Cellular to solve the voicemail issue resulting in a happy senior that now has a working voicemail.

We will return in October for another tech hour look for more information regarding the day and time in the senior center's newsletter.

We will be presenting at the following senior centers on using smart phones:
Ashland Senior Center on the 23rd
Northborough Senior Center on the 22nd
Bolton Senior Center on the 28th

We will be having a tech hour at the Westborough Senior Center where residents will be able to stop by and have their questions answered.

We are also have events planned for October through December with other Senior centers.

Last week we had our monthly meeting and when it as over we wound up at Thairiffic on Main Street in Marlborough.

had the chicken cashew nuts. The food and services are great, PRICES were reasonable.

I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return for takeout or in person dining.

This month SayvaServices, LLC had the opportunity to work with a senior center and the local public access tv station to produce a video showing seniors how to use a cell phone. Teaching them the basic functionality of a cell phone; how the volume buttons, power button and home button work, how to charge a phone and how to check battery status as well as Wi-Fi or cell signal strength. How to use gesture controls to move around the screen or to swipe. What do all the symbols mean on the status bar at the top of the screen and we covered adding contacts. A lot of useful information in a short time.

This is the first of a series of videos that we will create with the senior center and public access TV station.
We are already scheduled to create the next short video on Zoom.

Helpful Tip on How to Silence a Ringing Cell Phone

Do you ever find yourself in one or more of the following situations: waiting in line, in a lunch meeting at a restaurant, in a church, Library or are in an important meeting and your phone goes off and keeps ringing, you have one of those special ring tones on your phone? Everyone turns and looks at you.
What do you do?
There is an easy way to silence your incoming call, let the call go to voicemail.
This is how to silence the phone.
Depress the power button once and the ringing will be silenced, and the call will be answered by your voicemail.
The power button on iPhone can be found on the top of the phone or the side of the phone depending on the model you have.
When the time is more convenient or you are in an area where you can take calls you will be able to review your voicemail messages and your recent calls logs and call the person back.

We will help seniors with technical issues such as this and other questions they may have.

The month of March means it will be time change our clocks for Daylight Savings time.

On March 14th we will be changing our clocks, springing ahead.

If you have need help or have an older parent who needs help changing the clocks in the kitchen appliances, the wall and mantle clocks, bedroom clocks and the clocks in the programable thermostats and even in their cars.

We had a customer who contacted us to help him move.
He did not have a lot of furniture to move but needed to make three stops to pick up about 10 items.
The movers were too expensive.
He asked friends and family members and they were not available.
He was stuck , not sure what to do.

He called SayvaServices, LLC for help.

Working with him we identified what needed to move where the items needed to be picked up and what the destination was.

SayvaServices researched the locations, estimated the sizes of the furniture the possible locations of the truck rental, looking at everything from truck size, pickup and locations and where to the return the truck.

Our research identified the optimum route to save time and money.
The move entailed Picking up the truck, moving furniture from a Condominium, storage facility and an assisted living facility and dropping a piece of furniture off. Then moving to the new apartment.
Moved all the furniture in place and setup to customers’ requirements, help hang a couple of the pictures, adjust kitchen shelves, and help unpack some items.

SayvaServices treats seniors as if they our own, we did that during this move.
Looking out for our customers best interest and saving them a couple of hundred dollars on this move.

We reduced the customer’s stress during this entire move process.

We noticed a senior in the parking lot we were in. He was looking at his car because he was not sure if his tires were damaged and properly inflated.

We asked if he needed help. Everything looks fine.
We exchanged information and we learned about his background and we told him about SayvaServices, LLC.

We learned that he needed to find an apartment within 2 months and was not sure what he was going to do or how he was going to find an apartment.

We stayed connected with him using text messages and phone calls.
We provided him local listing of apartments for rent and a list of complexes in the area.
Using our network, we provided him a few local real estate agents from the MetroWest area.
We also connected him with the senior center in his town for additional resources available with the state.

He was not sure of how to find an apartment with time ticking and he was grateful for all the help and the information we offered him.
