Community-Based Supports & Individual Supports
Individual Supports offer an opportunity for participants to receive direct support and assistance—with or without a caregiver present, inside or outside of the participant's residence—to achieve and maintain independence, productivity, enhanced family functioning, and community inclusion.

Community-Based Supports and Individual Supports may include:

Engaging in community-based activities

Receiving direct assistance within the community

Supervision while performing or learning tasks related to basic self-care, social skills, and activities of daily living (ADLs)

Behavioral Supports

Behavioral Supports are used to acquire or maintain appropriate interactions with others and to enhance safety when managing challenging behaviors. Through this process, specific criteria for behavior remediation are established by:

Developing a comprehensive assessment of the challenging behavior(s)

Creating a structured behavior modification plan

Structuring the step-by-step implementation of the plan

Providing ongoing training and supervision for staff and guardians

Conducting periodic reassessments of the plan to track progress

Individual Supports or Community-Based Supports
(In place of a Day Program)

Prior to the development and ex*****on of any plan, it is essential that time is dedicated to getting to know those we intend to support. Whether building on current strengths or targeting skills that need refining, taking the time to understand what motivates the participant is vital for the effective delivery of services.

We meet with the participant and their guardian or family to target individualized needs and structure each session. This establishes clear expectations—not only for what the participant can expect, but also for what is expected from ABA Services Group staff. The plan remains fluid and can be modified as the participant's needs dictate.

Plans may focus on:

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)

Community Participation

Increasing Independence

Assistance with On-the-Job Skills

Learning Activities

📝 POSITION DESCRIPTION:
DSPs provide aid within the home or community to recipients who may be diagnosed with a variety of disabilities and function across a wide range of levels. The goal is to help people with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD) achieve a more comfortable level of independence. DSPs assist individuals with IDD by providing safe living environments, helping with daily tasks, transportation, personal care, community inclusion, and teaching life skills.
