🐿️ WHY DO SQUIRRELS CHEW ON HOMES? 🐿️
Hearing scratching or noticing chew marks around your home? You might have a squirrel problem!
Squirrels naturally need to keep their constantly growing teeth worn down, which means they spend a lot of time chewing. Unfortunately, your home can sometimes become their chew toy. 😬
🏠 Common things squirrels may chew on:
🪵 Wood siding, trim, and fascia
🔌 Electrical wires
🧱 Roofing materials and roof edges
🕳️ Vents and other entry points
🌳 Structures near trees and branches
Squirrels can also take advantage of small openings to get inside attics, walls, and other areas of the home. Once inside, they can create nests, leave droppings, damage insulation, and potentially cause additional property damage.
⚠️ The biggest concern? Electrical wiring. Chewed wiring can create a serious fire hazard.
If you notice fresh chew marks, hear scratching in the attic or walls, or see squirrels repeatedly entering and exiting your home, don't wait for the problem to get worse.
🐿️ Parshall Pest Control can help identify how they're getting in and determine the best way to keep them out.
