😊I'm starting 2026 by remembering that what I do every day defines and shapes who I am more than the big, sporadic things. The breakfast I eat, the walks I take, and the "thank yous" I say... have a real impact. šŸŽ‰ šŸ“…

One of my favorite reminders—for myself as much as anyone else. Big goals don’t require perfect plans. They just need a first, tiny step.
Whether it’s a home project, a work project, or a personal one, don’t wait until you have it all figured out. Start where you are, take the smallest step you can, and celebrate every bit of progress. That’s how momentum is built. šŸ’›āœØ

Marc Brackett's essay in the most recent issue of TIME is a worthwhile read for everyone (or at least everyone who experiences overwhelm and exhaustion from the news and state of the world). Key points:
1) Regulating your emotions is NOT a code word for suppressing or dismissing them
2) Steps you can take are "Naming", "Shifting", "Anchoring before Acting", and "Choosing Renewal"
3) Emotions are contagious; choose to co-regulate in a healthy direction with others
4) Regulating emotional response to big and important conditions is the only way you can sustain the energy and focus to do something meaningful.

ā€œEmotion regulation is how we turn fear into courage, outrage into justice, and grief into solidarity."

Big joy can come from little choices. I’m choosing to sit outside where I can soak up some sun, smell the leaves, and feel the wind on my face while I wait for my kid to finish a Saturday morning class. It barely feels like waiting- it almost feels indulgent. ā˜€ļøšŸā˜ŗļø
