You've spent years perfecting one resume.
The one with the titles. The certifications. The promotions.

But there's a second resume most people never think about — the one that gets read when you're gone.
Look at these two documents side by side. 👇
Same person. Same life. Two completely different stories.

One asks, "What did they accomplish?"
The other asks, "What did they leave behind?"

Your family won't frame your job title on the wall. But a trust? A structure? A plan that says, "I thought about you before you even got here"?
That's the resume that actually matters.

The good news? It only takes 37 minutes to start writing it.

In my life, I have always been an educator. I put together a free training for families who want to protect what they’ve built.

It’s 37 minutes. It covers the three things that silently destroy generational wealth — even when you think you’re covered. And it walks through a framework I built for my own family based on what the most successful multigenerational families in history actually do. No cost to watch. Just real information.

If you have people you want to protect, this is worth your time.

Five years ago, within a short window of time, I became a grandfather three times over. Three little girls.

Something shifted in me that I didn’t expect. I started looking at everything differently — my savings, my insurance, my will, my investments. Not through the lens of "am I doing okay" but through the lens of "what happens when I’m not here."

And when I really pondered that question, I realized I had more gaps than I thought. I had paperwork. But I didn’t have a system that would work without me. So I started building one.

That journey led me through a couple of years of research, studying what families who sustain wealth for generations actually do differently.

I’m a lifelong learner. But I’ve put together everything I’ve found so far into a free training that any family can watch.

Someone who knows I am a Pastor, a Non-Profit Executive, and a Grandfather asked me, "Mr. Jackson, why are the papers my attorney gave me not enough?"

Here’s something I think about a lot:
Most families protect their wealth with documents. But documents don’t protect wealth — systems do.

A will tells people what you want upon your death. But it doesn’t prepare anyone to manage what you leave behind. It doesn’t keep your family out of probate. It doesn’t protect against estate taxes. And it definitely doesn’t lay out a plan for how the next generation will make decisions.

There’s a difference between having paperwork and having a plan. Most families don’t realize the gap until it’s too late.
I put together a free training that breaks this down in 37 minutes. If you have people you want to protect, the link is below or in my bio.

I shared a free training this weekend about protecting family generational wealth, and the responses have been incredible. Along with the "Thanks, Rev. Jackson!" I also got these comments:

"Great material and a clear plan outline. My family is in." — K.K.
"Great job — you didn't hold back on information. It was outstanding." — M.R.
"Very informative! I appreciate the time and energy you put into educating us." — L.B.

These are real responses from families who watched the training. 37 minutes of real information that could change how you think about your family's future.
The training is free. You should watch it too. Your family's future is worth 37 minutes.

Three things are quietly destroying what families build — and most people don't find out until it's too late. I break them down in 60 seconds. If you want the full picture, I put together a free training. Www.LegacyJourney.life

She was 43.

The owner of Veganish Vibes—a popular 100% vegan restaurant in Baton Rouge, LA—passed away recently.

Today, the restaurant announced it's permanently closing.

She turned her family's soul food recipes into something new—plant-based comfort food that drew customers from across the state. She built something from nothing. Most days, she cooked and ran the register herself.

And now it's gone.
Not because the business failed. Because the business was her.

Commonly with small business entrepreneurs, there is no succession plan. No structure to continue. No architecture for what comes next.
Everything built just closes its doors.

This is the gap I keep talking about.
We celebrate entrepreneurs. We admire their hustle. But we rarely ask: What happens if you're not there tomorrow?

A will doesn't answer that question. A trust might. A documented succession plan does. A conversation with your family about how something like this continues—that's where legacy begins.

She left behind more than a restaurant. She left behind recipes, a reputation, a community, and a family.

But without architecture, even the most beautiful things don't survive the builder.
Rest well, Chef. Prayers to her husband, children, and the Veganish Vibes family.

For 20 years, I thought legacy planning was about paperwork.

Get a will. Maybe a trust. File it somewhere. Done.

I was completely wrong.

The paperwork is maybe 20% of the equation. And it's not even the most important 20%.

Here's what I missed:

→ The conversation with my wife about what we actually want
→ The alignment on values, not just assets
→ The clarity about who handles what and why
→ The communication to family members about our intentions
→ The ongoing stewardship—not a one-time event

I had documents. I didn't have a system.

Documents sit in drawers. Systems live in families.

On January 16th, I'm hosting a session called "Legacy Journey: Beyond the Will" to share the framework I wish I'd understood two decades ago.

It's free. It's 90 minutes. And it might save you the years I wasted thinking paperwork was enough.

Last week at a holiday family gathering I was speaking with my cousin who told me the story of one of her friends who inherited $400,000 from their deceased grandparent a few years ago.

They were lamenting the fact that within three years, it was gone. All of it...

Not because they were irresponsible. Not because they made bad investments. Not because of tragedy.

Because there was no structure. No guidance. No conversation about what the money was FOR.

It came as a lump sum with no context. No letter explaining what their grandparent hoped it would do. No framework for how to steward it. No family understanding of shared purpose.

So it got spent. Bit by bit. On reasonable things. Until it was gone.

The grandparent who left that money worked their entire lives for it. And it vanished in 36 months.

This isn't rare. Studies show most inherited wealth disappears within one or two generations.

Not because heirs are foolish. Because inheritance without architecture is just money.

And money without direction finds a way to leave.

What would it take for what you leave behind to actually LAST?

I am hosting a FREE webinar "Legacy Journey: Beyond The Will on January 16, 2026. Registration Link is in comments.

Good afternoon FBF...

I can recount two family situations that taught me everything about legacy.

The first: A family torn apart within 48 hours of their father's death. Siblings who loved each other became strangers fighting over who got what, who knew what, who Dad really meant to have the house. There was no plan. Just pain.

The second: A family that grieved together after their mother's passing. They knew exactly what their mother wanted. They knew why. They had talked about it—not once, but many times. The funeral was sad, but it wasn't chaotic.

Same grief. Completely different outcomes.

The difference wasn't money. The second family had less. The difference was preparation. Conversation. Clarity. One family had documents. The other had understanding.

I decided that moment which kind of situation I wanted my family to be in...and I took action to build my family system.

Its 2026, are you leaving your family to chance?
