We turned the CalCCA conference into a mural walk. Twice. ✨

JSR Strategies was proud to sponsor the CalCCA 10th Anniversary Conference in Sacramento, and we carved out time on both ends of the week to share a piece of the city we love. An evening walk to welcome everyone as the conference kicked off. A morning walk to start the final day before the sessions began.

One walk was led by Jaya King, a Sacramento muralist and personal friend, who took a small group through two of her pieces right in the neighborhood near the Capitol, both commissioned through the CADA Apartments. Art made for the people who live there.

We loved showing off our city. And the crowd was exactly right for it.

Thank you to Jaya King for your time, your warmth, and your work. Thank you to Tripepi Smith for making this recap so beautiful. And thank you to everyone who laced up and walked with us — especially the teams at MCE and San Diego Community Power. Getting to do this with you was the best part.

We’ve been sitting on this one for a minute — JSR made it to SXSW back in April and we’re finally coming up for air long enough to talk about it.

We weren’t there to sell anything, just to show up, listen, and learn from people doing genuinely interesting work at the intersection of art and technology. That space is alive right now and we’re glad to be in it.

This Saturday, our client MCE and the City of Martinez, CA - City Hall will unveil a brand-new mural at the Boys & Girls Club, and we’ve been proud to support it from behind the scenes.

Here’s why this mural is special:
-- It’s designed by Illuminaries, a team of local artists from Martinez who recently unveiled an epic mural honoring Oakland native and Olympic Gold Medalist, Alysa Liu.
-- It’s more than art—it’s a symbol of the community’s commitment to climate action, equity, and welcoming spaces for youth.
-- Since 2018, MCE has invested over $2.3M into Martinez for clean energy, bill savings, EV incentives, and energy upgrades—and this mural celebrates that partnership.
