You'd be surprised how often I get an out-of-breath call from a potential client, super excited about a job they'd like to apply to "like, right now", asking for my help rewriting their and within just a day or so. Unfortunately, more times than not, I have to turn them down, due to existing commitments with other clients.
The best time to edit your resume is NOT when you find an exciting job opportunity. The best time to edit your resume is actually when you are NOT yet looking for a new role! That way, you have an up-to-date resume in your back pocket, ready to go for whatever awesome job opportunity you'd like to apply for! In fact, I always advise my clients to look over their every six months, to ensure everything is still up-to-date.
Summer is typically a slower time of the year for hiring. There's no better time than NOW to have your resume edited and ready to go when new opportunities arise!

I've come to realize what my favorite part of my job is.

It's not the high-energy, interactive, and dynamic Zoom calls I have with my clients like I originally thought it was (although the Zoom calls are probably my second-favorite part 😆).

It's not the actual writing itself, although I do love that part, too!

It's the EMPOWERMENT that my resumes and LinkedIn profiles give my clients, enabling them to feel confident about the skills they have, to go out and use this confidence on job interviews, and to CRUSH IT!

(And ladies - just FYI, we as a gender are more likely to sell ourselves short compared with men! We tend to downplay the talents we have, or just dismiss them as "not really that important". Well, they ARE important. YOU are important. YOU are a fantastic asset to any company that will have you. Believe it. Live it. Display it on interviews!!!)
