🪳 What You Don’t See Can Be Just as Important
These photos were taken behind kitchen cabinets after they were removed from a heavily cockroach-infested home.
What you’re looking at is extensive cockroach f***l matter and staining left behind in an area that had been hidden from view for some time.
This is one of the reasons thorough cockroach control is about much more than simply killing the roaches you happen to see.
Cockroaches spend a lot of time in dark, protected areas—behind cabinets, appliances, walls and other inaccessible spaces. As populations grow, so does the amount of f***l material, shed skins and other debris they leave behind.
And that can have real consequences for the people living in the home.
🦠 Cockroaches can mechanically spread microorganisms as they move between contaminated areas and surfaces where people prepare or consume food.
🤧 Their f***s, saliva and shed body parts can also contribute to indoor allergens. For people who are sensitive, significant cockroach activity can contribute to respiratory and allergic symptoms.
👃 There’s also the quality-of-life factor. Imagine preparing food in a kitchen while knowing cockroaches are coming out at night, or constantly seeing evidence of them around your home. The odor, contamination concerns, anxiety and constant cleaning can make an already difficult situation even more stressful.
And sometimes, you don’t realize how extensive the problem is until something gets moved.
That’s what makes photos like these so important.
The goal of professional cockroach control isn’t simply:
“How many roaches can we kill today?”
It’s:
“How do we eliminate the population, identify where they’re harboring, remove the conditions allowing them to thrive, and prevent the infestation from coming back?”
Severe infestations can take time and require a comprehensive approach—but the difference a successful treatment can make isn’t just a pest-free kitchen.
It’s giving people their living space back.
That’s a part of pest control that doesn’t always show up in a service invoice, but it’s one of the most important parts of the job.
Don’t ignore the signs. The roaches you see may only be a small part of what’s happening behind the walls and cabinets.
