This is hard for me to post. I haven’t said much publicly since my cancer diagnosis this year. Sometimes it’s hard to find the words.
This time last year, I was on stage playing this event for Pink Lady Project to help other families who had “the battle” on their hands. I never imagined that a year later, one of those families would be mine. Being on this side of it is a feeling I can’t really explain.
I still remember the phone call from Christy when she told me about her diagnosis. You don’t forget something like that. She’s one of those friends God places in your life, and I am eternally grateful for her. She’s been my ride or die my entire life, and having her beside me through this means more than she knows.
To everyone who has shown up for my family this year, thank you. It’s hard being the one who needs support, but you have made sure we haven’t had to face this alone. I’ll never forget that.
I hope to see you all tonight at Leon's Garage. I’m looking forward to being back on stage and helping other families through their battles soon. That will mean more to me now than it ever did before.

A little about Shane Stephens (aka Shaners) • To know him is to LOVE him! He is truly one of my very favorite people! He has the biggest heart and the kindest soul of anyone I have ever met.
From the beginning of my cancer journey, Shane was a constant of support! Whether it be at our make shift Country Concert in Logan Co because COVID shut us down … a week after hearing my diagnosis and mentally preparing to face Chemo in the following days … to playing at every event we have had since! TODAY - we are here to HONOR him … we celebrate the milestones and support the journey yet to come!
