First, let me compliment you on the professionalism of your staff as well as their courtesy. Checking in at a late hour often leaves a bit to be desired. The lady that checked me in was so cordial that I felt as if I were visiting a family member. She took care of me, honored the rate I was given, and gave me a wonderful upgrade due to my titanium status.

Once in my room, I was pleasantly surprised at the amenities there. I have never been to a courtyard that was up to the standard that your location showed me. The attention to guest needs, the appointments in the room and hotel spaces are exceptional, and the location was perfect for my needs as it was close to restaurants, and it was quiet allowing me to rest. I woke the next morning to reach out to you to give my compliment. I have to say that I had a perfect stay.

In celebration of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, as well as the 10 Year Anniversary of the Employment First Initiative, WCBDD would like to spotlight Courtyard by Marriott in Mason.

Having earned the title of the WCBDD Employer of the Year Award for 2021, Courtyard by Marriott continues to be an excellent community partner, and most importantly, a business that provides employment opportunities to individuals with developmental disabilities.

General Manager, Tina Laterza has been instrumental in building a work culture that embraces and empowers employees with disabilities. With little knowledge of the vocational and employment programs WCBDD offers businesses, Tina remained open and curious. After working with the WCBDD Community Employment/Transition team, Courtyard by Marriott has not only hired two employees with disabilities, but has also facilitated working tours, as well as community-based assessments. Job Developers and Job Coaches who have had the opportunity to work with Courtyard by Marriott praise them for providing a welcoming environment and supportive employees.

Due to the inclusivity and support built around ALL employees, Courtyard by Marriott stands out as an exceptional employer and community partner. WCBDD is incredibly grateful to honor DD Awareness Month and the Employment First Initiative with our partner, Courtyard by Marriott. THANK YOU!

We just received an award from the Warren County Board of Developmental Disabilities for 2021 “Employer of the Year”!

From Angela Dean, Community Employment Manager at Warren County Board of Developmental Disabilities, “I nominated Courtyard Marriott for Warren County Board of DD’s Employer of the Year award and you won! You have been a tremendous support in helping people we serve gain skills and employment and for that, we are so very thankful!

“Being able to partner with Warren County DD has meant so much to us. Even before our grand opening in 2019, I was actively exploring ways to provide opportunities to this segment of the community. It’s a win-win scenario and seeing it in action is very rewarding! Our staff has been excited about the opportunity and we genuinely enjoy having these associates as part of our team. We have worked with both the work-study program at the high school and the adult program at WCBDD. It has been our pleasure to offer opportunities to 9 awesome individuals since 2019 and we now have 2 direct hires currently as a result! We are honored not only to be selected for this award, but it is a true privilege to be a part of these programs.” said Tina Laterza, General Manager.
