SAVING THIS HOME — FROM THE OUTSIDE IN.
This is the kind of project that shows what Ohio Valley Labor is really about.
This home had a serious moisture problem. Water was being directed toward and underneath the house, creating the conditions for moisture and mold inside the crawlspace.
Putting plastic over the ground wasn’t going to fix that.
So we went after the entire problem.
We excavated around the home, corrected drainage, installed a French drain system to intercept and redirect groundwater, improved the grade around the foundation, and moved that water away from the house.
Then we went underneath.
The crawlspace was cleaned out, contaminated materials were removed, the wood structure was professionally treated for mold, the drainage and sump system were installed , and the crawlspace was fully encapsulated and set up for humidity control.
The result is more than a clean-looking crawlspace.
It is a home that now has a system working to keep water out, move groundwater away, control moisture underneath, and protect the structure for years to come.
There are 50 pictures from this project because work like this isn’t accomplished with a bucket of paint and a roll of plastic. There was a tremendous amount of work behind the finished product and we’re proud to show it.
