Over the years we have had to come to grips with the age old farmer’s dilemma…hail. Pea sized hail doesn’t sound bad unless you have fruit setting everywhere. Peach trees, mulberry trees, grapevines, never mind the vegetable gardens, we will wait to see how they faired against the hail. My granddaughter and I picked up a quart of mulberries on top of a layer of hail that resembled a snow bank. So when the day gives you mulberries, you make pie. Always grateful for the water, just prefer it in its liquid form!
