The Nassau County Police Department is investigating a Serious Vehicular Accident that occurred on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 9:27 am in Massapequa.
According to detectives, a Nassau County Police vehicle was travelling northbound on Broadway (responding to a house fire) when it was in collision with a Toyota Camry travelling eastbound on New York Avenue driven by a 63 year old female. The Camry then jumped the curb striking a male pedestrian and then continued into a hair salon on the corner of Broadway and New York Avenue. Two (2) Seventh Precinct Officers and the 63 year old female were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. The pedestrian was also transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.
This investigation is ongoing.

The Seventh Squad reports the arrest of a Northport man for a Burglary that occurred Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 9:28 a.m. in Massapequa.
According to detectives, Anthony Lagalante, 36 of 5 Richlee Drive entered Perfume Plus kiosk inside Sunrise Mall, Massapequa and removed over 30 bottles of perfume from the display case. A subsequent investigation led detectives to Lagalante through a positive fingerprint match. Detectives located Lagalante on April 20, 2016 at 7:13 a.m. in Farmingdale and placed him under arrest without incident. At the time of the arrest Lagalante was found to be in possession of ma*****na.
Lagalante is charged with Burglary 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of Ma*****na 5th degree. He will be arraigned on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at First District Court in Hempstead.

The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Copiague man for criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance that occurred in N. Massapequa on Monday, 04/18/16 at 8:05 P.M.
According to detectives, Maldane Cockett, 26, of 44 Bethpage Rd., while on N. Broadway/N. Beech St. sold He**in to another for an agreed upon amount of money. The defendant is employed as a school bus driver for Educational Bus Transportation.
Nassau/Suffolk He**in Task Force detectives, along with Bureau of Special Operations police officers place the defendant under arrest at the scene. Cockett is being charged with Criminal Sale Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and was arraigned on Tuesday, 04/19/16 in First District Court, Hempstead.

The Missing Persons Squad is investigating a missing juvenile that occurred on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at approximately 7:00 pm in North Massapequa.
According to detectives, Zohia Uddin, 14 years of age, was last seen leaving a friend’s house in North Massapequa at approximately 7:00 pm on Sunday, April 10, 2016. The missing girl resides in Bethpage.
Detectives request anyone with information regarding the above missing juvenile to contact the Nassau County Police Department- Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7347 or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
