9 years ago today Jimmy Kennelly answered his last alarm. A member that we miss greatly…not only a huge part of our East End firehouse, but also a son, brother, and father. Continues to rest in peace Jimmy.

On May 16th our Massapequa Fire Department Rescue Company 3 teamed up with multiple departments and the health professionals from The Mount Sinai Hospital to preform over 150 ekgs to Massapequa Public Schools students. This was all done in conjunction with the Connor Kasin foundation to proactively screen and provide services to our local community outside 911 response. Memorial Day as a moment to remember our fallen Veterans. During this time fire departments in the area will sound the sirens to honor our fallen Veterans.

Today the department had representatives in Huntsville Alabama inspecting remount of ambulance 639. The ambulance was a 2003 ford and after a full strip of the box and mount on a new chassis it is ready to serve our residents. The company is family owned, and operated….they are meticulous to the point they made sure to preserve the memorial sticker for Detective Diller of the NYPD. Looking forward to seeing this unit in service
