NY is mourning yet another police officer who died PO Michael Izzo
The NYPD reported a police officer died after a car crash on Long Island yesterday. The incident was reported around 3:15am at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Little Plains Road in Greenvale, Suffolk County on February 8th. This was involving a Honda CRV, 2009 model and a Toyota Tundra, 2022 model. The driver of the Honda was transported to a local hospital where he died of injuries on Tuesday. He was a police officer with the 111th Precinct in Queens. The investigation is still ongoing.
This is the second incident involving a police officer in a car crash on Long Island. On February 1, Nassau County Police Officer Patricia Espinosa died after an alleged DWI incident involving a vehicle that was going 125 mph. The 20 year old driver has been charged and the case is ongoing.
On February 25, Long Island pizzerias will donate a portion of their proceeds to the Espinosa family for future expenses. Long Island stands with police officers always supportive of law enforcement.

LEVITTOWN,
NY — Levittown community members and loved ones are mourning the heavy loss of two 19-year-olds after a tragic crash occurred on Friday in Hicksville. Police said Lindsey Rose Parke of Levittown died in the crash.

Parke was a volunteer firefighter with the Levittown Fire Department, Ladder Company 6, and the FD shared a touching tribute on their page. She was one of two teenagers who died, and the other young woman has been identified as Alexa Duryea of Levittown, police said.

According to Nassau County police, the crash took place at 11:30 p.m in Hicksville. Officers said a 23-year-old male was operating a 2026 white BMW, heading westbound on Old Country Road in the vicinity of Sterling Place, where he lost control of his vehicle, crossed over into oncoming traffic, and struck a tree— and then a building.

A GoFundMe has been set up on behalf of the Parke family by Christine Scarry, with more than $10k raised by 134 donors. Organizer Scarry shared a message on the page:

"For my dear neighbors, the Parke Family, these are their words for our beloved Lindsey. Please read and help support their family during this terrible time.
