🤖 Copilot training should start with the work, not the features.

What work are employees already doing every day that Copilot can help them do better?

💡 Start with workflows:

📄 Drafting, summarizing, and reviewing documents
📊 Analyzing information and identifying key themes
🧠 Preparing for a conversation, presentation, or decision

Effective AI workforce training should be role-based, practical, and tied to real work.

📩 Managers: before you hit send on that email…save it as a draft.

An emotional-intelligent habit for leaders - if you are in a state of frustration or have written an email right after a tense conversation, don't hit send.

Come back to it later and ask:

-Is this helping move the situation forward?
-Am I responding to the issue—or reacting to the emotion?
-Would I say this the same way face-to-face?

Give yourself 10 minutes.

10 minutes can help you remove a sentence or soften the tone or ask a better question.

As a manager, the goal isn’t to avoid difficult conversations. It’s to handle them with more intention.

🛑 1 leadership habit managers can stop in their 1:1 meetings this week: stop filling the silence.

Managers often feel pressure to keep the conversation moving. When there’s a pause, they'll jump in and explain some more.

But sometimes that silence is exactly what the other person needs to process.

A short pause can create more thoughtful conversations, and stronger active listening.

In your next 1:1 or team conversation:

-Ask the question…wait 5 seconds.
Yes, it's awkward and uncomfortable. Lean into it.

Leadership isn’t always about always having something to say. Sometimes it’s about giving space to listen.

🏢➡️ The real reason team offsites work. One of the real benefits of an offsite isn't the change of scenery. It's the space it creates.

People aren't being pulled back into the day-to-day every few minutes.
This uninterrupted time is what gives teams an opportunity to:

🔹 Have the conversation they've been putting off.
🔹 Practice how they communicate and work together.
🔹 Address something that isn't working.
🔹 Step back and reset before jumping into what's next.

There's plenty of opportunities to squeeze another meeting onto the calendar.

Your people need protected time to focus on the team itself.
💬 What does your team need uninterrupted time to work through?

📌 How do you measure learning after the training ends?

“Did you like the training?” is useful.

“What are you doing differently because of it?” tells a deeper story.

How can you measure whether learning actually makes its way back to the workplace? A few weeks after training, observe:

🔹 Are managers having different conversations?
🔹 Are employees using the tools they practiced?
🔹 Has a new behavior shown up on the job?

Ultimately, the goal isn't just a great learning experience. It's behavior change.

💬 “What are you doing differently as a result of the training?”

The answers may tell you more than another satisfaction score on a spreadsheet.

⏳ Sometimes the best conflict-management strategy isn't knowing exactly what to say. It's knowing when to say it. Hit: PAUSE.

The #1 resource you have to diffuse conflict at work - time. The time to
respond instead of react.

3 simple ways to use time when tensions are high:

🔹 Pause before responding.
You don't have to answer immediately. A few minutes can change the tone of the entire conversation.

🔹 Draft before you send.
Write the email or message. Then save it as a draft and come back to it. You'll change it once the emotion has settled.

🔹 Be comfortable with silence.
In a difficult conversation, you don't always need to fill the awkward pause. Give the other person time to think — and give yourself time, too.

🗣️ Manager as coach: 3 simple questions for your next 1:1 to help your employees think things through!

🔹 “What options do you see?” Encourages them to think beyond the first solution.
🔹 “What would you do if I weren’t here?” Builds confidence, judgment, and independent decision-making.
🔹 “What do you think your next step should be?” Shifts ownership of the solution back to them.

Before you give away the answer, ask a question instead. Over time, these subtle moments will help your people become more autonomous.
