No Chance Encounters November 4, 2026

It started simply enough. Philip heard the Lord tell him to go the road that led from Jerusalem to Gaza, so Philip went. Philip’s obedience ended in an opportunity to share the good news of Jesus and baptizing a new brother in Christ. God is always orchestrating events so that we will have opportunities to witness about Jesus. Our obedience allows us to be used by Him. Where is He sending you today?

The eu**ch asked Philip, “Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?” Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.—Acts 8:34-35

Prayer: Lord, I trust that You are at work to draw people to Jesus. Give me sensitivity to where they are spiritually and open my eyes to the opportunities You will give me today to point others to Him. I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Are your eyes open to the opportunities God will give you to influence others today?

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.—Ephesians 5:15-17

Prayer: Lord, open my eyes to see the opportunities You will bring me today. Help me to live wisely; seeking to understand Your will and make the most of the opportunities You give. Prepare me through Scripture and prayer. Let me invest today for Your purposes. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Leading by the Book October 30, 2026

The Lord had one practical piece of advice for Joshua as he began to lead God’s people: Get to know Scripture. Meditate on it. Live by it. This is good advice for every leader. If you want to lead like Jesus, let the Scripture that shaped Jesus’ life and leadership shape you. Make God’s Word the primary influence in your thinking and decision-making! How is your leadership being shaped by Scripture?

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.—Joshua 1:8

Prayer: Lord, I want to be successful in Your eyes. I want to do what You want me to do. I want to live and lead according to Your commands. Use Scripture to shape my leadership perspective and decision-making. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.

In Light of Who He Is October 28, 2026

Jesus’ life reveals the very heart and mind of God. The startling revelation is that at His very core, God is a servant. Do you share God’s desire to serve? How is Jesus’ presence transforming your life?

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!—Philippians 2:5-8

Prayer: Jesus, as I reflect on this passage, I am humbled. I realize how much You want to transform my leadership motivations and intentions, my perspective, my attitudes and behavior. I realize how far I have to go to become like You. Thank You for Your unending patience with me. Make me like You, I pray in Your name, Amen.

In Light of His Love October 26, 2026

What benefits do you have from your relationship with Christ? A relationship with Jesus fulfills the deepest needs of our souls, the need for encouragement, comfort, identity, intimacy, acceptance, compassion and understanding. When we invite Jesus to satisfy our innermost needs, we are free to love others as He did. How is His unconditional love transforming your relationships?

Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.—Philippians 2:1-2

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for your unconditional love for me. Thank You for meeting the deepest needs of my soul. Thank You for accepting me, believing in me, and encouraging me. Transform my relationships as you transform me with Your love. Teach me to love others the way You love me. I pray in Your name, Amen.

When Wishing Isn't Enough October 23, 2026

Certain results are accomplished only by intentional, focused prayer. Actually, Jesus said that at times both prayer and fasting were required. Leading like Jesus means not just wishing that things would change, but seeking God for the change He wants to bring about and the role He has for us to play in leading change. What are you praying about today?

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.—Luke 18:1

Prayer: Lord, I see the importance of prayer in Your life, and I listen as You teach Your disciples to pray. I am emboldened to keep asking You for what I need as a servant leader. I believe that You long to hear me ask You what You want to do and how You want to use me. So I pray today, and I wait to hear what You will say as I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.

God-Honoring Relationships October 21, 2026

Scripture calls us to let the reality of our love for Christ be seen in our relationships with fellow believers. We are called minister to others according to their needs: to pray for one another, to be considerate of one another, to love one another, to exhort and encourage one another, to carry one another’s burdens, to forgive one another, even to rebuke one another, if needed. The disciples practiced mutual submission, consulting one another on doctrinal issues and working through disagreements so as to honor Christ. How is your reverence for Christ reflected in relationships with those around you?

Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.—Ephesians 5:21

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I want others to see that there is something different, something appealing in the way that we Christians love one another. Help me to respect and support my brothers and sisters in Christ in visible ways as we live our lives for You. In Your name I pray, Amen.

Fully- Prepared October 19, 2026

Peter knew the power of Jesus’ forgiveness. After swearing that he would never forsake Jesus, he slept through prayer and then denied and abandoned Jesus. Paul mentions, almost as an aside, Jesus’ private appearance to Peter after his resurrection. What this must have meant to Peter! Have you known forgiveness this complete? How has it transformed your life?

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas [Peter], and then to the Twelve.—1 Corinthians 15:3-5

Prayer: Oh Jesus, thank You for forgiving me and restoring me! Thank You for Your mercy and grace. Thank You for the opportunity to show my love for You by serving others in Your name. May I extend the forgiveness and grace You have shown me to others. I pray in Your name, Amen.
