We are 100% estate grown(meaning to sufficiently grow all varietals on the property) growing 10 varietals; 5 whites and 5 reds. Our winemaker, a Geologist for the USGS in Reston,VA, strives to create balanced award-winning wines that reflect the rich and unique terrior that is the Shenandoah Valley AVA. ~Simplicity is Key~

🌿 DID YOU KNOW WE GROW HOPS? 🌿

Today is hop harvest day at North Mountain!

Tucked away here on the property, our hops spend the season climbing their way toward the sun, and today, those little green cones are finally coming down. ☀️🌱

While we don’t currently produce anything with our hops, the growing and harvesting process is pretty fascinating to see up close. From towering vines to handfuls of freshly picked hops, it’s just another little piece of agriculture happening here at North Mountain.

W**e grapes may be our specialty… but they aren’t the only thing growing around here! 🍇🌿

Little vineyard helper on duty. 🍇

We took a walk through the vines today to check on the grapes, and of course Juliette had to conduct her own very thorough inspection. This is our Vidal Blanc.

The vineyard is looking beautiful as we get closer and closer to harvest. There’s something pretty special about watching the next generation grow up right alongside these vines.

Although… we may need to have a conversation about quality control eating the product!!

Harvest is coming VERY soon.

The vines are heavy, the grapes are ripening, and one of the most exciting times of the year at North Mountain is almost here.

Soon these beautiful clusters will make their way from the vineyard to the w**ery, and the work of turning this year’s harvest into future bottles of North Mountain w**e will begin. 🍷

There’s nothing quite like this time of year, walking the vineyard, watching the fruit change every day, checking the grapes, and knowing harvest could be right around the corner.

Jill’s keeping a close eye on them…
