🚒 BIG NEWS FOR MAYNARD VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT 🚒

Tonight, the Maynard City Council approved the required local cost share for two FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) in the same funding cycle!

✅ Brush Truck Grant

• $150,000 Project

✅ Wellness & Safety Grant

• $182,325 Project

Together, these grants bring more than $332,000 in improvements to our department and community.

The funding will provide a new brush truck, firefighter cancer screenings, annual physicals, mental health wellness initiatives, and 15 new firefighter helmets to help keep our firefighters healthy, safe, and ready to serve.

Receiving one FEMA AFG grant is a big accomplishment. Receiving two in the same year is something our department and community can be proud of!

We would like to thank the Maynard City Council for approving the local cost share and for their continued support of our department.

Most importantly, these grants help ensure that when our community calls for help, our firefighters have the equipment and resources needed to answer that call.

Thank you, Maynard, for your continued support!

Tonight, members of the Maynard Volunteer Fire Department took part in CPR and First Aid training to sharpen their skills and stay prepared for whatever calls come our way.

Whether it’s a medical emergency, an accident, or simply someone in need, we believe ongoing training is one of the best ways to serve our community. Taking the time to practice and learn together helps ensure we’re ready to respond with confidence when every second counts.

We’re proud of our firefighters and first responders for their commitment to continuing their education and serve the Maynard community with professionalism, compassion, and dedication.

A big thank you to DripDrop and National Volunteer Fire Council for including the Maynard Volunteer Fire Department in the 2026 DripDrop Hydration Giveback Campaign!

This generous donation of DripDrop electrolyte drink mix will help keep our firefighters and first responders hydrated during training, emergency responses, extreme heat, and long incidents.

Staying hydrated helps keep our crew safe, healthy, and ready to answer the call whenever our community needs us.

We truly appreciate your support of volunteer fire departments and first responders. Thank you for helping take care of those who are always ready to take care of others!
