It might not be the way we originally envisioned celebrating this year. The beauty of Coworking, however, is to provide collaborative resources to our members while having the ability to adapt and evolve to the ever changing needs of the businesses that utilize it. And we can celebrate that however we so choose.

Annually, International Coworking Day is celebrated on August 9th. This year, it falls on a Sunday, so we're recognizing this fun holiday on Monday, August 10th.

Though we can't fully open our doors to the public in droves as in years past, we still want to welcome everyone to our space in a safe but unique way so everyone can see what the Coworking movement is all about.

Join us throughout the day on Monday for virtual activities to celebrate Coworking while also providing resources for those of you currently working from home.

While we were already trying to overcome a global pandemic, Hurricane Hanna came and left a lasting mark on the RGV with devastating flooding and destruction.

Here at Grindstone Coworking, we understand that many of our community members are still left without light and working internet. We know you've still got work to do, and there's important paperwork you need to file for your insurance claims and FEMA applications.

We're opening the doors to our Edinburg location by offering a Free Day Pass Membership to those of you who need reliable internet and a hot cup of coffee to get those important things completed and submitted.

This week we're highlighting the cool space we call Grindstone Coworking McAllen! 🙌🏼

Opened in September 2018, Grindstone McAllen (or G2 as we affectionately call it) serves as a community hotspot for those businesses, remote workers, and entrepreneurs who want to headquarter out of the hottest area of McAllen: North 10 Street and Trenton Road. 🤩

With a total of 4 Private Offices, a huddle room, open table workspace, and a cozy cafe seating area, there's plenty of room for you to set up and get to work. 💪🏼

A big "Thank You" 🤗 to everyone who has come by so far to our Edinburg office to pick up our Anti-COV.ID Bracelets.

We're thankful and grateful 🥰 that so many in our community want to participate in our Social & Physical Distancing Initiative.

All of us need to do our parts to help slow the spread and help our healthcare workers. It's up to us to do what we can to flatten the curve. 📉

Due to the overwhelming positive response with last week's post on our Anti-COV.ID Bracelets, Grindstone Coworking would like to do our part to help the public participate in what's working for Members.

We've seen the rise in Coronavirus cases in our area, and we see the strain this is putting on our healthcare workers. At Grindstone Coworking, we want to continue to promote healthy and safe practices within the RGV so we can all do our part to flatten the curve.

That's why we're offering our Anti-COV.ID Bracelets to everyone.

We believe these bracelets will serve as an easy way for community members to silently indicate whether they are comfortable physically distancing past the recommended 6 ft. or comfortable socially distancing at the recommended 6 ft.

If you'd like a FREE Anti-COV.ID bracelet, we're offering curbside service outside of our Edinburg location. Just text us when you're parked outside in the Valet spaces so we can safely deliver them.

As an added effort to continuously reinforce Community while simultaneously maintaining a safe environment for all who enter Grindstone Coworking's spaces, we've created a language that helps remind others to keep their distance or that you are ready to safely re-socialize with others who feel the same way.

Each person who walks into a Grindstone location- Members & Guests, will receive 3 color-coded bracelets to be worn, as you choose, when in the spaces.

-The Red ❤️ bracelet will say to others: "I'm Comfortable Keeping My Distance, Accepting Waves & Peace Signs".
-The Yellow 💛 bracelet will say to others: "I'm Comfortable With Socially Distant Socialization, Fist Bumps".
-The Green 💚 bracelet will say to others: "I'm Comfortable With Safe Socialization, Hand Shakes, & Hugs".

And, as always, Masks are REQUIRED while in the common & open areas where socialization could occur. 😷

We hope this will serve as an easy way to silently indicate you are either physically distancing, socially distancing, or you are ready to safely re-socialize.

And our wish is that, during these uncertain times, this will translate over into the "real world" so others outside of our Grindstone Community will be able to indicate their level of comfort, too. If you'd like a set, come on by our Edinburg location. 🤗

We've enjoyed seeing all your lovely faces walking in the last 2 weeks since we opened at our newest location! 🤩 Out of an abundance of caution, however, we're switching to an Appointment Only basis for tours at our Edinburg & McAllen locations. 🗓

To schedule a tour, you can do so via Facebook Appointments, sliding into our DMs, by shooting us an email ([email protected]), calling or texting us (956.900.2190), or messaging us via WhatsApp. We'll even do a virtual tour if you prefer.
