A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for National Night Out tonight! ❤️💙

We had an incredible evening filled with fun, laughter, and community. The splash area and Water Wars were a huge hit, and it was SO much fun seeing everyone cool off and enjoy themselves!

Thank you to everyone who attended, as well as our volunteers, vendors, community partners, and everyone who helped make the event a success!

We appreciate the opportunity to connect with our community, and we can’t wait to do it all again next year. 🚒🚓💦

Join us tonight from 6:00–8:00PM at McCleary City Hall and the Beehive Retirement Center for an evening of fun, food, and community!

Come meet your local first responders, check out emergency vehicles, enjoy free hot dogs, games, activities, and more!

💦 Don’t miss the Splash Pad & Water Wars at 7:30PM! We’ll be turning the ball fields into a giant splash zone, so bring your favorite water gun and be ready to cool off! Refill stations will be available.

We’ll be turning the ball fields into one huge splash zone with the fire truck and fire hoses! Bring your favorite water gun, towel, and get ready for an epic community water battle with your local firefighters!

Update: Crews cleared the scene at 8:55 PM after the fire was deemed 100% contained. The scene was left with DNR.

McCleary Fire Department crews are currently on scene assisting with a brush fire on the Thurston County side of Capitol Forest, near the Capitol 4000/Capitol 5000 line by Bozy Creek.

We currently have two tenders on scene assisting alongside the Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

We will provide updates if necessary.

🔥 Burn Ban in Effect – Effective Friday, July 24 at 12:01 AM 🔥

Due to warm, dry conditions and increased fire danger, Grays Harbor County has enacted a burn ban until further notice. The restrictions were expanded as fire danger increased across the region.

🚫 Prohibited:
Recreational campfires
Charcoal and wood-burning devices
Residential yard waste burning
Land-clearing burns

✅ Still Allowed:
Propane and natural gas BBQs
Pellet grills
Gas camp stoves
Gas fire pits

Please help protect our community by following these restrictions and using extra caution outdoors. Thank you for doing your part to reduce the risk of wildfires. 🔥🚒

🚩🔥 RED FLAG WARNING 🔥🚩

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the Black Hills and Southwest Interior Lowlands, including our area, from 4:00 PM today (Wednesday) until 2:00 PM Thursday.

⚠️ What to expect:
🌡️ Hot temperatures in the 90s
⚡ Isolated thunderstorms with lightning
💨 Gusty, erratic winds up to 25–30 mph
🔥 Dry conditions that can allow fires to start and spread rapidly

Even if a thunderstorm brings little or no rain, lightning can ignite dry vegetation, and sudden wind shifts can cause fires to grow quickly.

Please do your part to help prevent wildfires:
🚫 Do not burn outdoors.
🚬 Properly dispose of smoking materials. Never toss them from a vehicle.
🚗 Avoid parking on dry grass.
⚙️ Be cautious with equipment or anything that could create sparks.
📞 Report any signs of smoke or fire immediately by calling 911.

Stay aware, stay prepared, and help prevent the next wildfire. ❤️🚒
