Removed an existing SpanCo jib crane and installed a new HSI 2-Ton jib crane with full motorized functions and rated for outdoor use. The CIS crew did a great job on this install.

Another reason why 3rd Party Crane Inspections are necessary in our industry is that they can identify potential issues that may have been overlooked by operators. In this instance, the operator was unaware that the hoist drum was not properly spooled, an issue that should have been detected during the operator’s daily inspection. Fortunately, our inspector identified the problem during the 3rd party post-assembly inspection and was able to assist the operator in respooling the hoist rope without causing any damage or delays.

Unfortunately, many times our inspectors find issues on carry deck cranes specifically Broderson cranes such as in the photos below. The operator must take time to familiarize themselves with proper setup procedures and operations specific to the crane they are operating.

As the operator, you are responsible for the operations of your crane. Take the necessary time to ensure the crane is reeved correctly, setup properly, and the operational aids are configured correctly. Lives depend on it!

Crane Industry Services now has an opening for an Overhead Crane Inspector. This is a full time position at one location in "Atlanta, GA". This is a 4 day a week, 10 hour day position. The candidate will inspect a variety of overhead crane systems, make minor adjustments, and or install or relocate equipment. This particular location is a great work environment.

Requirements:
High School diploma
Valid Driver's License
Reliable transportation
Must be able to pass 10 year background check as well as pass a drug screening
Must be willing to learn the craft
Not afraid of heights or operating lift equipment.

Recommended Skills:
Electrical
Controls troubleshooting
Knowledge of various overhead hoist and crane systems.
