I have spent over two decades helping women regulate under pressure. Last week I sat in a room full of them - and noticed something powerful in myself. I embraced the feeling that I deserved to be there. I volunteered to stand up in front of hundreds of women, even though speaking in a room that size has historically been anxiety-provoking for me. I did two rounds of accelerated networking for the first time in my life. And guess what...I wasn't perfect. I stumbled on my words sometimes. But I stood in my power.
This was the eWomenNetwork Women's Success Summit: SHIFT Tour in Milwaukee with Sandra Yancey, hosted by the remarkable Rhonda Noordyk, our MKE Chapter Managing Director. I couldn't have experienced any of it unless I put myself in that room — and I even got the honor of sitting right next to Sandra at a table full of engaging women. I left with three light bulb moments, and not one of them was a business tactic.
First: the greatest gift was meeting women in person I'd only ever known through a screen. Getting to stand in front of them, shine as my real self, hug them, shake their hands - that energy can't be replicated digitally. The room was full of it.
Second: I sat among hundreds of CEOs and business owners, many of them well into six figures, and realized none of us "had it all together." We were all there to be inspired and to rise to the next level. That reminded me, deep in my body, that we don't have to do this in isolation. We rise together - and we do it faster than we ever could alone.
Third: I came home with a strong daily method to show up with live content while letting AI carry what it's built to carry. But the real takeaway was a reminder of one of my core values- authenticity. I've embraced visibility hard this year, and I've posted two unscripted videos since the event, with a third coming tomorrow. Whatever I put out into the world will always be real. That's non-negotiable for me.
Sandra... your keynote was life-changing, and I don't say that lightly. You moved so many people in that room to tears. I had to hold my own grounding EFT point to stay steady in my emotions. Thank you.
And Rhonda... you are a force. The event you delivered was a true game changer, and I cannot wait to see the magic ahead as we grow our businesses alongside all of these incredible women.
