Some nights are just for being her mom.

Watched Makena in her element at work (and was styled by her and the team there...next level experience!), got thoroughly snuggled by Chai while I tried (and failed) to focus on my laptop, then dinner with Makena and her girlfriend at the Lexington - complete with the best NA lemon drop in St. Paul, MN.

I spend a lot of my life talking about regulated power and showing up fully. This is what it's actually for. Being proud of someone. Being present. Being one whole person at the table instead of half here, half somewhere else.

Grateful doesn't quite cover it. 🤍

Tell me the last small moment that filled you up?
I want to hear it.

I have spent over two decades helping women regulate under pressure. Last week I sat in a room full of them - and noticed something powerful in myself. I embraced the feeling that I deserved to be there. I volunteered to stand up in front of hundreds of women, even though speaking in a room that size has historically been anxiety-provoking for me. I did two rounds of accelerated networking for the first time in my life. And guess what...I wasn't perfect. I stumbled on my words sometimes. But I stood in my power.

This was the eWomenNetwork Women's Success Summit: SHIFT Tour in Milwaukee with Sandra Yancey, hosted by the remarkable Rhonda Noordyk, our MKE Chapter Managing Director. I couldn't have experienced any of it unless I put myself in that room — and I even got the honor of sitting right next to Sandra at a table full of engaging women. I left with three light bulb moments, and not one of them was a business tactic.

First: the greatest gift was meeting women in person I'd only ever known through a screen. Getting to stand in front of them, shine as my real self, hug them, shake their hands - that energy can't be replicated digitally. The room was full of it.

Second: I sat among hundreds of CEOs and business owners, many of them well into six figures, and realized none of us "had it all together." We were all there to be inspired and to rise to the next level. That reminded me, deep in my body, that we don't have to do this in isolation. We rise together - and we do it faster than we ever could alone.

Third: I came home with a strong daily method to show up with live content while letting AI carry what it's built to carry. But the real takeaway was a reminder of one of my core values- authenticity. I've embraced visibility hard this year, and I've posted two unscripted videos since the event, with a third coming tomorrow. Whatever I put out into the world will always be real. That's non-negotiable for me.

Sandra... your keynote was life-changing, and I don't say that lightly. You moved so many people in that room to tears. I had to hold my own grounding EFT point to stay steady in my emotions. Thank you.

And Rhonda... you are a force. The event you delivered was a true game changer, and I cannot wait to see the magic ahead as we grow our businesses alongside all of these incredible women.

If you're a high-performing woman who looks composed in every room but feels the pressure quietly running the show underneath, I built something just for you. Take my free Pressure Pattern Assessment and discover what's actually driving your dysregulation under pressure → link in comments.

No makeup. No filter. Just me and the last 3 weeks of my life.

I graduated therapy. I sat in Carbon’s Elite Reset event. I was in the room at eWomen Network’s Shift Tour watching Sandra Yancey remind a roomful of powerful women what’s actually possible.

And something cracked open.

Here’s what I know now that I didn’t fully own before: the ceiling you keep hitting isn’t a skill problem. It’s an environment problem. You cannot outgrow a room that was never built for your next level.

The women who break through aren’t the ones who worked harder in isolation. They’re the ones who kept choosing rooms that showed them what was possible.

Be in those rooms. On purpose. Repeatedly. With people who can help motivate you to grow and expand.

DM me “ROOMS” if this landed for you. 🤍

The breathwork didn't fail you. It was never designed for a boardroom.

Here's what nobody in the personal development space wants to say out loud: every regulation tool most high-performers have tried - the breathing techniques, the mindset reframes, the "pause before you respond" strategies - was designed for a calm environment where your nervous system has time to cooperate with your intentions. Not for a board meeting where the numbers are being challenged. Not for the conversation with your COO that escalates faster than you can track. Not for the high-stakes presentation where your mind goes blank three seconds before you need to speak.

When real pressure hits, the dysregulation happens bottom-up, in your body, before your conscious mind has any say in it. Your nervous system detects a threat signal and routes resources away from your prefrontal cortex - the part of your brain responsible for strategic thinking, language retrieval, and composure - toward survival. That cascade happens in milliseconds and no amount of awareness, reframing, or deep breathing changes it once it's started.

I've spent twenty years working clinically with high-performers - senior leaders, VPs, CEOs, and business owners - who are some of the most self-aware, most accomplished professionals I've ever met. They've done the therapy. They've invested in their development. And they still lose access to their best thinking in the moments that count most, because they've been using top-down tools on a bottom-up problem.

What actually works is clinical-grade nervous system intervention that interrupts the pattern at the level it's actually running - fast, discreet, and precise enough to use in real time without anyone knowing you're doing anything at all.

The Executive Pressure Pattern Assessment™ will show you exactly where your system fires and which specific tools are built for your pressure pattern. It takes five minutes and it's completely free.

Working from the Peabody Hotel lobby in Memphis this week while my boyfriend Andrew is at his Redwood leadership conference - a once-a-year event, and it meant a lot to be included as his significant other to support him and the Cardinal team.

I made the call going in that I wasn't going to see counseling clients this week. Just be present. Support him. Breathe.

Then this morning a last-minute Zoom opened up with a woman I cannot say enough about - Rhonda, who attended one of my recent workshops. We recorded a testimonial video I'll be sharing soon. Some of the most beautiful words anyone has said about this work. More to come on that.

After the call: a real workout in the hotel gym and post hot tub sesh, then a few focused hours from a lobby table while the famous Peabody ducks quacked in the center of the fountain. (If you've never heard the Peabody duck story, go look it up - ninety years of tradition, a Duckmaster in tails, and a fountain full of mallards. Only in Memphis.)

A sweet little moment from this morning: my shirt says "support local woman owned business" and it sparked a conversation in the elevator, then another with a woman working in the hotel store. She told me all about her daughter's business right here in Memphis - nineoatone.com. Go check her out and send a little love her way.

This is exactly why I wear the shirt. It turns strangers into a network of women lifting each other up.
If you're a high-performing woman exhausted from choosing between your career and your life (it's a false choice, by the way), my 5-day Regulated Executive Reset challenge is completely free.

I'll send it straight to your inbox - just reply or comment "RESET" and I'll get the link to you.

Grateful for Cardinal and our trip to Memphis. Grateful for Andrew. Grateful for Rhonda. Grateful for ducks.

Have you ever walked out of a difficult meeting thinking, "Why did I react like that? That's not who I am."

Here's what's actually happening: your 8-year-old nervous system just ran the meeting. Not your 45-year-old strategic mind.

EMDR-PEP isn't about reliving the past - it's about updating the operating system that formed when you were small, so it stops showing up uninvited in your boardroom.

I made a video breaking down exactly how this works for executives, because I was tired of watching brilliant women be failed by surface-level coaching that never touched the root.

Watch the full video "You're Not Declining - Here's What it Is" from the youtube link in my bio and tell me in the comments - does this resonate with what you've been experiencing?

New video is up...and I want to be honest about why I made it.

I keep hearing the same thing from the women I work with. They've handled genuinely hard things their whole careers. Restructurings, board presentations, difficult conversations, impossible quarters.

And then something small happens - a tone in a meeting, a challenge to their numbers, a room that isn't listening - and they react in a way that doesn't match who they know themselves to be.

And then comes the shame spiral.

Here's what I want you to know: the reaction isn't the problem. The reaction is information. It's your nervous system doing exactly what it was built to do...protect you.

The problem is that it's working from two simultaneous threat responses, with a neurochemical buffer that perimenopause is actively reducing.

That's not a character issue. That's a systems issue. And systems issues have systems solutions.

In this video I walk through the full clinical picture - what's actually happening, why your old tools feel useless right now, and what the first real intervention looks like.

If this lands for you, drop a comment below. And if you know a woman in leadership who's been hard on herself lately for "losing it" - share this with her.

If you've been more reactive at work lately and you can't figure out why — this is the clinical explanation nobody gave you. When perimenopause hits while un...

A few weeks ago, I met Jazmynn in person for the first time and she is...Warm. Grounded. Deeply intentional about the work she's doing in the world. She is the Chief Director of Entrepreneurial Growth & Innovation at the Progress Center for Black Women right here in Madison. She's a coach, speaker, author, mentor...and one of those rare humans who makes community feel like a verb.

Here's what I keep thinking about since we met: The women who are the most powerful are almost never guarding their lane. They're building the road wider. That's Jazmynn. And that's the kind of woman I want to keep showing up for...and alongside. We rise higher when we rise together. 🙌🏼✨

Something I need you to understand before Monday.

The reason you're still hitting the same wall - even after coaching, even after therapy, even after trying to manage the hormonal piece - is not because those things failed you.

It's because none of them reached the layer that's actually driving the problem.

Your nervous system built a survival strategy a long time ago. Perfectionism. Over-functioning. The need to have every answer before someone asks the question. And perimenopause turned the volume up on all of it.

Talk-based approaches help you understand it. Mindset work helps you think around it. But the nervous system's threat library doesn't update through understanding.

That's what we're starting to change on Monday.

5-Day Executive Trigger Blueprint™ - free, email-based, 10 minutes a day.
