BFS is excited to welcome Narita to the team. And yes, for anyone wondering, her name was inspired by the Narita CD cover by Riot, a fun little piece of rock-and-roll trivia that makes her introduction even more memorable.
Narita is a first-generation college student from a small Texas town whose academic and professional journey has been shaped by a passion for environmental stewardship, coastal resilience, and applied science. She earned her B.S. in Environmental Science from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and is currently pursuing her M.S. in Environmental Science, with graduate research focused on post-construction monitoring of living shoreline projects along the Texas Gulf Coast.
Through her work with the Harte Research Institute and as a former NOAA EPP/MSI Graduate Scholar, Narita has gained experience in coastal restoration, environmental policy, GIS, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and scientific communication. She has also collaborated with NOAA and Mississippi State University on projects focused on coastal conservation and resilience.
Narita is grateful for the mentors, colleagues, friends, and family who have supported her along the way, and she is excited to continue learning, growing, and contributing to projects that help protect and manage natural resources along the Texas Gulf Coast. BFS is thrilled to have her on board and looks forward to the perspective, energy, and expertise she brings to the team.
