Thanks to The Learning Experience for letting us be a part of their Touch-a-Truck Festival. Hundreds of kids came out to interact up close with their favorite trucks and community vehicles.

My daughter Brooklyn was a big help, dubbing the walk through our truck the “Restoration Runway.”

When we started planning our Q2 strategy session and team building, we knew we needed to look no further than Historic Downtown McKinney. Once again, it did not disappoint:

It started with a “Shop Till You Drop” session picking up donation supplies. A caravan of shopping carts will get you some funny looks at Walmart!

Our second stop was delivering supplies to McKinney Food Pantry. After a recent meeting with Executive Director Melody Krill at a McKinney Chamber of Commerce event, I asked what they needed most. I was surprised to learn toilet paper was a top item—I’d guess it's likely because its bulk deters donors. Fortunately, our service vans made transporting bulk items easy!

Our third stop took us to Hugs Cafe Inc and HQ for our strategy session and lunch. Their new facility is amazing! Folks, it's not just a restaurant, they have meeting rooms, lounge areas and an awesome rooftop patio overlooking Historic Downtown McKinney. The food was great and the service is the best in McKinney.

After lunch we walked next door to take part in the Summer of Soccer at TUPPS Brewery and catch the first half of a world cup game. I’m not sure there is a better venue to take a sporting event (apart from in-person).

To round out our day, we walked over to Arcade 92 McKinney where I learned just how old I am…

To the hundreds (if not thousands) of people who have asked… Yes, that is my face in the latest issue of Entrepreneur Magazine! 📸

All joking aside, I am incredibly proud to be a part of what we are building at True North Restoration. We were officially named #12 on Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 Top New and Emerging list! 🚀

The photo featured in the magazine holds a lot of meaning for our team. It was taken when our True North Restoration of Iowa location was dealing with historic flooding in Spencer, Iowa. When they put out the "bat signal," eight different franchise locations immediately mobilized from across the country to help them stabilize their community.

That level of camaraderie, cultural alignment, and operational synergy is exactly why we are shooting up the rankings. We don’t just share a logo; we show up for each other and our clients when it matters most.

We had a great time supporting Meals on Wheels of Collin County at their annual golf tournament!

A huge thank you to all 38 volunteers and 138 golfers who helped make the event such a success. The weather couldn’t have been better — plenty of sunshine, very little wind, and thankfully the tent came in handy!

Most importantly, together we helped raise more than $90,000 for an incredible cause.

Special thanks to Diana Crenshaw and Ron Crenshaw for letting me play on the Elite Security Insurance team. We may not have won on the scoreboard, but we definitely competed for first place in fun!

A big thank you to CoVerica for allowing us to host a great Lunch & Learn with local brokers focused on the ins and outs of water damage mitigation. We had tons of great questions, valuable conversations, and incredible energy from agents looking for better ways to serve their clients in an insurance world that’s becoming more complex every day.

Special shoutout to Ron and Diana at Elite Security Insurance Agency for recognizing the need for these conversations and helping us coordinate such a successful event. We appreciate the partnership and everyone who took the time to attend!

Last week at the True North Restoration Owners Summit, we came home with some pretty special recognition.

We were celebrated for having the 2nd highest year-over-year growth in the entire network—which is something I’m really proud of, not because of the growth itself, but because of what it means for the impact we get to have in our communities.

Then came a big surprise—we were named Franchisee of the Year.

I almost didn’t post about this, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized this isn’t just “our” award.

It belongs to:
• Our incredible team and the care they bring every single day
• My family, who’s been all-in through the ups and downs of building this
• And our community, for trusting us during some of life’s toughest moments

We’re not at the finish line—but this is a reminder that we’re on the right path.

Last week was the annual True North Restoration Owners Summit in Denver, and I’m still buzzing from the energy of the trip.

This was my 3rd Summit, and it’s incredible to see how the momentum builds each year. In my previous career, I’ll be honest—I often found large conferences a bit draining. But sitting in this "chair" as a business owner? It’s the most energizing few days of my year.

WHY THE CHANGE? IT'S ALL ABOUT THE ROOM YOU'RE IN. When I joined a franchise, I knew I’d get a proven system. But I didn't realize I’d be getting a world-class support network of fellow owners. These are people who:
- Were incredibly successful in their "past lives."
- Felt a higher calling to step into ownership.
- Are genuinely dedicated to improving their local communities.

While we lean on each other all year long, there is simply no substitute for in-person collaboration. Sharing wins, solving problems, and leveling up together at Coors Field is a reminder that while we are in business for ourselves, we are never by ourselves.

Huge thanks to the True North team and my fellow owners for the constant inspiration. 🚀
