Minimum order for any cake is $100. Custom designed wedding cakes begin at $6.00 per serving. Gum paste flowers, figurines and sculpted cakes may be priced separately. A little cake career perspective…

I made this cake for free in the early years of my career for a “friend” who promised referrals and exposure in return.

Spoiler alert: the referrals never came 😂

Regardless, looking back at this one makes me smile because every cake taught me something. Every yes, every mistake, every late night, every “I’ll do it for exposure” moment helped shape the artist and business owner I am today.

I’m incredibly grateful for the younger version of me who said yes to opportunities before she fully understood her worth. She was learning. She was building. She was figuring it all out.

These days I know what my time, creativity and years of experience are worth 🩷

Grow your craft. Grow your confidence. And for the love of buttercream… don’t let anyone convince you that “exposure” is payment 😂

It’s been three years since my last introduction, so it’s time for a refresh!

I’m Thea, the cake artist and heart behind Bakermama. For over 15 years I’ve been creating wedding and celebration cakes with the goal of making them taste as good as they look.

I’m a recovering perfectionist in my daily life but will forever be a perfectionist in confection. To me it isn’t just about making a beautiful cake… it’s also making the entire experience easy and enjoyable. I believe life’s biggest moments deserve something made from scratch and served with kindness.

A little about me…

• I went to school for accounting and worked in HR for many years, but I craved more (literally and figuratively). I then took all the classes I could find before running off to culinary school.

• Mom of 3 (one of whom is now a recent pediatric cancer survivor 💪🏻) and married for 16 years.

• I love Jesus, the color pink, true crime podcasts, reading and healthy boundaries.

• When I’m not caking or in mom-mode, I’m either in the gym (gotta work off all that sugar) or in my sewing room (quilting is my other artistic escape)!
