Did you know? The National Secretaries Association was formed in 1942 to provide support, training, and recognition to administrative professionals who were badly needed to support the economy and war effort. The first day of recognition for these workforce heroes was declared by the Secretary of Commerce in 1952.

We have come a long way since then, but we still celebrate the women and men that can run the day-to-day in organizations without missing a beat. Where would we be without the administrative professionals who take pride in their organizational skills, time management, and proactivity.

As we near the end of the National Administrative Professionals Week, we applaud all our PBG administrative staff! Without you, we wouldn't be able to make an impact for our clients, make a mark within the small business community, and make PBG a place that's full of diverse talents.

On Thursday night, PBG was honored to celebrate the most impactful people in government at the Fed 100 Gala. Surrounded by the old-world artisanship and Gothic architecture of one of the world's largest cathedrals was the perfect way to demonstrate this evening's significance.

Congratulations to Melvin Brown II and James Saunders on another validating award to add to your career achievements. Being in a room with all the honorees reminds us that we're a part of something greater than our individual companies.

Booyah!: One of our fave 90s slang words. Booyah expresses joy. For example, “Booyah! Thursday's event was da bomb!"

RIVA Solutions's 90s GovCon prom gathered all the home skillets to celebrate their graduation from the 8a program. And what was hella special was that all ticket sales went to Save the Children's Emergency Fund for Turkey & Syria Earthquake Relief.

As a small business well on the same path with our 8a program, it was major to celebrate with our peers and support a good cause.

Another SECAF Finalist Reception in the books. PBG has been named a finalist for Project of the Year, and we couldn't be prouder!

Our CEO, Pawla Ghaleb, PMP, and our CTO, Vanessa Soon, personally collected the plaque and celebrated alongside our fellow nominees. It was wonderful to mingle with everyone and we cannot wait to see everyone's faces again at the Awards ceremony on May 5th.

It’s Women’s History Month and we’re celebrating World Storytelling Day this week! That means there’s no better time to share PBG's story, which starts with Pawla Ghaleb, our founder, and CEO.

Pawla’s driving belief in equal access to opportunity for all made her the person she is today and inspired her to found PBG in 2010, creating a business that welcomes and celebrates women of all backgrounds.

As this week wraps up, we wanted to take a moment and recognize one of our fierce female executives that is also an exemplary mom. Vanessa Soon, PBG's Chief Technology Officer and partner in ownership, is an accomplished technologist, mentor, entrepreneur, and executive, but she's also a mom to a wonderful young woman, Isabella, who has witnessed her mom conquer the IT industry and is doing some world-conquering of her own.

To celebrate Women's Month, and National Working Moms Day, which was observed this past weekend, we asked Vanessa about her experiences in this male-dominated industry. Here is what the woman we get to be inspired by every day here at PBG said.

Vanessa, in your experience, how has working in the IT field changed for women over the years?
In today’s world, women are being recognized for not only being influencers and leaders in the IT Industry, but also as women founders and owners, who are building flourishing and innovative companies that are mission focused and based on the core values and core expertise that they initially cultivated. It’s exciting and our government benefits with this diversity of thought.

How has your IT career influenced your daughter’s perception of the technology field?
I am proud of what Pawla, Ghaleb, and I are building at PBG. My greatest influence on Isabella is not about the technology field but about striving to be a strong and independent young woman who does everything with Passion, Boldness, and Grit. She can take these values and leverage them in anything and everything she does.

Last year, on International Women’s Day, many of our PBGers including the leadership team, pledged to create a gender-equal world that’s free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.

We, at PBG, took it one step further and expanded the concept of equity beyond gender to include equity of culture, thoughts, and diversity so that collectively we can all .
