It’s certainly a relief to see sunny skies after last night's storms. Unfortunately, our street sign and flagpole lanyard didn’t fare quite as well, but we’re happy to report the flags were saved. 🇺🇸

We hope everyone across our community made it through the storm with little to no damage and is enjoying a much calmer day today.

Have a great Friday and an even better weekend from all of us at Spokane County Fire District 9 ☀️

Creating defensible space around your home is one of the best ways to prepare for wildfire season 🌲🔥

Maintaining proper spacing between trees, brush, grass, wood piles, and structures can greatly improve your property’s chances during a wildfire. Creating defensible space helps reduce fire spread and lowers the risk of ember ignition around your home.

This video is a great example of how small steps and proper spacing can make a big difference during a wildfire. 🚒
