When you think of the Mebane Business Association, do you picture the shops and restaurants downtown?

They're certainly part of our community, but MBA membership goes well beyond storefronts!

Our members include photographers, contractors, healthcare professionals, financial advisors, nonprofits, real estate agents, manufacturers, educators, retailers, restaurants, and plenty of other businesses.

Some have storefronts. Some work from home. Some spend their days traveling between clients. And some are part of organizations that serve our community in ways you might never see.

What brings us together is a shared interest in building relationships, supporting local businesses, and helping Mebane grow.

Whether you're running a business on your own or representing a larger organization, we'd love to get to know you!

One of our favorite things about MBA meetings is getting to know the people behind Mebane's businesses!

We were happy to welcome new member Crystal Woods of TruePath Financial & Bookkeeping Services to our October meeting!

Based right here in Mebane, TruePath helps small business owners stay on top of their finances with bookkeeping, cash flow tracking, budgeting, and financial organization. They also offer business consulting to help owners improve their day-to-day operations.

After all, running a business involves a whole lot more than doing the work you love!

We're excited to have Crystal as part of the Mebane Business Association and look forward to getting to know her and her business better.

Your workday might end at 5:00, but your body doesn't clock out!

At last week's MBA meeting, our breakfast sponsor, Holly Boss of Body In Motion Physical Therapy, shared an important reminder about taking care of ourselves as business owners.

She told us about a real estate agent who had started making little changes to her everyday movements because of pain. Instead of reaching across her car, she'd walk around to the other side. She was finding ways to work around the discomfort without really addressing what was causing it.

Sound familiar?

Between hours at a desk, time on our feet, driving to appointments, and everything waiting for us at home, our bodies put in a lot of overtime.

And when something starts hurting, it's easy to brush it off or adjust how we move to avoid the pain. But those little adjustments can become habits, and the underlying problem may still be there.

Here's your reminder to pay attention to what your body is telling you. If aches and pains are sticking around or changing how you go about your day, it might be time to talk with Holly.

As business owners, we're pretty good at finding problems to solve. And when things aren't going according to plan, our first instinct is often to do MORE.

More marketing. More hours. More changes. More worrying.

But not every slow week is a crisis. Not every setback requires an immediate response. And not everything is within our control.

Sometimes the smartest business decision is to be patient, trust the work you've already put in, and give things a little time.

So on this rainy Saturday, here's your reminder: You can't fix the weather. Sometimes you just need to let it rain.
