Summit Technology Consulting Group (STG) announced today the expansion our Bank & Financial Institution Innovation Center near Harrisburg, PA. The facility was originally opened to support the growing demand of technologists that wish to learn cloud engineering skills, how to work with APIs, and perform core & fintech integrations.

The expansion adds over 15,000 square feet of office and conference facilities, a collaboration lab and a large space for interactive workshops, executive round tables and seminars to be led by some of the leading fintech innovators from around the country.

Rob Morgan, Senior Vice President of Innovation and Strategy at the American Bankers Association (ABA), visits FRT and shares an overview of some creative initiatives and investments that the ABA has been making to help enable smaller US banks to access new innovations for their business. The ABA has made some direct investments in firms such as Summit Technology Consulting Group, Finxact, and Canapi Ventures, bringing greater access to new core banking platforms, cloud desktops and construction loan tracking systems to regional and community banks.
This is a significant initiative for smaller banks that might not necessarily have the in-house technical expertise or budget and ex*****on capacity normally demanded of large transformational projects. With COVID-19 adding to the impetus to digitize customer service delivery, this will only become more important for the business models of those smaller banks.

Colleagues and Partners:

As we head into the weekend, STG wanted to share a brief update with our Bank partners on how we are navigating some of the technology challenges and supporting our clients:

- With our partners, we have provided a large amount of complimentary VDI workstations with core connectivity to our client base – ensuring folks can work from home or alternate locations during the COVID-19 events. We have three geographic locations servicing our clients – ensuring the optimal latency from the AWS edge locations.

- We have rapidly helped engineer VDI softphone solutions – ensuring secure telecommunications remain active. We see our client base getting creative, working on VDI solutions with Bluetooth and wired technologies. Of course, we are seeing the active use across collaboration tools increase – Teams, Zoom and the related technology.

- Our team is collaborating with various other service providers, including the main core banking partners in the US, all have stepped up and are working without focus on cost or expense to help the Banks continue to operate.

At the end of the day – certainly a good accelerator to have a much more digitally enabled work-force across the Banking ecosystem moving forward.
