When you least expect it…up pops a picture of our clock! Thanks to the Town of Easton .ma.us and Shovel Town Brewery for featuring our Large Two Dial Howard Replica Post Clock on their street banners and in their brewery. This distinctive clock features shovel-shaped clock hands, honoring the Town’s historical connection to the Ames Shovel Works factory.

Restoring a Piece of America's History

As America celebrates its 250th Anniversary, we're looking back at one of the most meaningful projects in Electric Time Company's history.

Most visitors to Independence Hall admire the famous tower clock.
Far fewer realize there's another remarkable clock projecting from the building's west side—a clock whose history stretches back to the early years of our nation.

By the 20th century, the original projecting clock had disappeared.

During preparations for the 1976 Bicentennial, Electric Time Company was selected to recreate it using historic engravings, photographs, and architectural research.

We designed and built a new movement, recreated the historic hands, fabricated the mounting system, and returned this remarkable public timepiece to Independence Hall.

Throwback Thursday to the 1980s, when we created this beautiful two-dial street clock for the Carleton Village retirement community.

Set along their indoor “Main Street,” this custom clock became a landmark gathering point, surrounded by seating, storefronts, plants, and classic architectural details. Decades later, it is still standing proudly and looking right at home.

We love seeing our clocks become part of a community’s story — not just as timepieces, but as places people remember.

Throwback Thursday
This building clock in Ashland, Massachusetts was originally made in the 1930s for another firm at this location.
We recently made a reproduction for Universal Auto, keeping the same classic look and bringing the clock back for many more years of service.
Always great to see these older clocks continue on.

Rep. Jake Auchincloss along with his District Director Stephanie Gray, and Medfield’s Selectman Osler “Pete” Peterson, visited Electric Time Company today for a quick tour. We gave the Congressman a brief synopsis of our history, and showed him examples of clocks made by our talented crew. We appreciated the time taken by our local and national representatives to visit us and understand our business.
