Take a peaceful moment and transport to our upper pond. ☮️

We believe in maintaining and building wildlife corridors around our farm so that native species can find a home here, too.

Lizards, owls, songbirds, geese, and even crawdads call this farm home at various times of the year.

These habitats benefit the farm in several vital ways:

🦎 Reduces pests naturally: Predators like owls, lizards, and birds keep rodent and insect populations in check.

🪿 Supports local ecosystems: Connected corridors allow wildlife to safely migrate, forage, and breed across Southern Oregon.

🐝 Boosts crop pollination: Wild edges provide year-round refuge for native pollinators and birds, which directly improves the pollination and yield of our crops.

💧 Improves water quality: Planted corridors naturally filter runoff and shade waterways, maintaining the clean, cool water that our resident crawdads thrive in.

The Brown-Belted Bumble Bee is one of the native pollinators we get most excited to see! 🐝💛

Here is why they are absolute pollination powerhouses:

✨ Their size & strength allow them to rapidly vibrate flowers to shake tightly packed pollen free.

💪 They are about 2x larger than a honeybee, allowing them to carry significantly more pollen per trip.

❄️ All that extra fuzz allows them to keep working even when other pollinators are resting.

Having our fire-fighting rig on hand is one of the ways we work to stay prepared on the farm.

With a fuel-powered pump and a tank of water on board, we’re ready to shut down small spot fires before they can become a real problem. 🔥
