In July, AccentCare celebrates music therapists who use musical instruments and songs to engage patients through emotional support, cognitive exercises, and physical movement to a beat. Thank you to our specialized team members, like Jennifer Rodriguez, who bring beauty and music to our patients and their families. Here's her favorite song playlist on Spotify.

AccentCare’s hospice and palliative care team in Meriden, CT, celebrated the 4th of July with veterans at one of their partner facilities, The Curtis Home. They had a great turn out. The morning consisted of music from America's greatest hits, Stars & Stripes, with residents singing along. With flags waving proudly, the group listened to Independence Day facts, presented by Ellen Massey, AccentCare Director of Patient Experience & Rachel Smith, Director of Clinical Operations. AccentCare team member, Andie Mackey, read "Independence Day,” by Mary North.

Residents shared stories of their fondest July 4th memories. Many thanks to Curtis Home's Administrator, Al Mislow, Recreation Director, Lauren Berling, Director of Social Services and Admissions, Susan Castrillo and many others for helping us celebrate this special day.

Resident James Sziabowski, a veteran of the Army/National Guard, proudly poses with AccentCare team members.
