Most protective coatings tap out when conditions get truly brutal. CBX doesn't.

Another application by our Australian distributor who recently wrapped up a 4-year check-in with a client who runs submersible pump volutes in some seriously aggressive abrasion environments. Their previous solution — rubber lining — was developing holes at the 8-month mark. They switched to CBX as a trial. That same pump is still running strong after 4 years of service! The numbers speak for themselves.

A few things that make CBX worth knowing about for anyone dealing with extreme wear conditions:
It's built with Illumina beads, bonds exceptionally well to CermAlloy CP and CL, and requires zero heat for application. That last point alone opens up a lot of doors for applications where heat is a dealbreaker. Our Australian distributor completed a coating restoration project for a Water NSW asset that had been pulled from service due to internal coating failure and corrosion damage.

The process involved abrasive blasting to achieve a 75-micron Class 3 profile, a 24-hour leaching period, and rebuilding pitted surfaces with Enecon CeramAlloy CP Paste before applying the CeramAlloy Liquid topcoat. The two-coat system bonds to steel at 4,000 PSI and is approved under AS/NZS 4020:2018 for contact with potable water across Australia and New Zealand.

The best part? Three years after reinstatement, they inspected the pumps and found the coating in perfect condition beneath a light layer of residue. That's the kind of longevity that makes the process worth it.

CeramAlloy is suitable for heat exchangers, water boxes, pumps, valves, tanks, cooling towers, and more — anywhere erosion and corrosion in fluid flow environments is a challenge.

Summer on Canadian lakes means one thing for houseboat owners: their boats have to look great and stay safe for guests, day after day.

One owner reached out after the slip-resistant coating on the aluminum decks of a rental houseboat started failing. The challenge wasn’t just traction—it also had to hold up under constant sunlight without breaking down.
Working with the local ENECON distributor, the old coating was removed, the deck was prepped, and damaged areas were rebuilt. A new slip-resistant system was installed and finished with a UV-resistant topcoat designed to handle outdoor exposure.

The entire deck—about 500 square feet—was completed in just two days. The result was a durable, safe surface that looks good and performs even better.
Best part? The owner was so pleased with the outcome that multiple additional boat decks are now scheduled for the same treatment.

Years of operating in harsh salt water had taken a serious toll on the propeller shafts of this Croatian naval vessel. Severe erosion and corrosion had developed around the struts and just ahead of the propellers. Previous epoxy coatings had failed, and the ship’s engineer needed a solution that would last — without driving up maintenance costs.

ENECON Croatia was brought in to evaluate the damage. The recommendation was a combination of CeramAlloy CP+AC and CeramAlloy CL+AC to rebuild the damaged areas and provide long-term protection against further erosion and corrosion.
After grit blasting the affected surfaces, CeramAlloy CP+AC was applied to restore the shaft profiles. Two final coats of CeramAlloy CL+AC were then installed to seal and protect the repaired areas.

The result was a fast, cost-effective repair that restored integrity and improved durability. The ship’s engineers were pleased with both the speed and the performance — and similar applications on other vessels have already been approved.

After sitting idle for more than seven years, these 16 flotation tanks were ready for a second life. The mining company—one of the largest in Mexico—needed to bring them back online quickly and cost-effectively without compromising long-term performance.

The local ENECON Distributor recommended a full restoration approach. ENESEAL CR was applied to protect all exterior tank surfaces and structural steel from future corrosion. Inside the tanks, the walls, drains, and loading areas were rebuilt and protected with CHEMCLAD SC. In areas exposed to severe erosion and corrosion, CeramAlloy CL+AC was used to restore and reinforce critical surfaces.

The total project investment exceeded $3 million USD, including structural welding in key areas. More than a year later, inspections show no corrosion or wear issues. The plant engineers are extremely pleased with the results.

A fabricated spool piece for a hopper dredge arrived with pinholes discovered during installation and testing. The replacement timeline? Three months and a significant cost to fabricate and install a new one.
Not ideal when you have a dredge sitting idle.
