ISDA’s mission is to provide and support an international forum of protective services
providers who share knowledge for the ultimate purpose of enhancing professional and business standards. Our members are security practitioners who supply protective services to corporate executives, high-net-worth individuals, military personnel, and law enforcement agents and officers. Who We Are Not
ISDA does

not train or supply drivers, EP agents, or secure transportation services. Neither we nor anyone else has a silver bullet to help gain employment. It is up to each individual to prepare themselves. ISDA supplies the tools to accomplish that goal. What We Provide
Our association offers Basic and Certified memberships. Basic membership requires no pre-qualifications. ISDA certification requires the completion of a certification process. The process follows guidelines defined by credentialing organizations and standards that are recognized in all other industries. The certification has been recognized by the corporate community for 40 years. We provide unbiased information to members and offer a platform for them to share their knowledge and express their opinions. The ISDA Separation - The Constant Learner
We are in a time when there are more EP/bodyguards/security drivers in the marketplace than there is a market for their services. To differentiate himself, a professional must become a constant learner. A constant learner isn’t defined by a training curriculum. Instead, that person is marked by a perpetual curiosity, a demand to ask and understand, “Why am I doing this? Why is this significant?” They feel the need to acquire additional skills and to meet and exceed what is expected from them. The International Security Driver Association helps its members become constant learners by opening the door to their curiosity. We Seek Clarity

ICYMI - The Top 5 Vehicle Characteristics That Affect Safety and Security
All vehicles have inherent characteristics that, if not understood and monitored, can degrade performance and create a dangerous situation for the principal. There are numbers that represent these vehicle characteristics; most can be found in the owner’s manual. The Security Driver does not need to understand the science behind these numbers. Still, they need to know how these numbers and changes in these numbers affect the principal's and passengers’ safety and security.

The FBI is going with BMWs for protection Vehicles.
The FBI is overhauling its fleet, shifting from the iconic armored Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevy Suburban to BMW X5 Protection VR6 models.

The automotive industry estimates the cost of a factory-armored BMW X5 Protection VR6 for government customers at $230,000 to $250,000. By comparison, government-spec armored Chevrolet Suburbans are estimated at $480,000 per vehicle, with heavier customization or GM Defense upgrades raising prices further depending on armor, communications, and specific requirements.

These are our thoughts: If the BMW is compared to the State Department Suburbans, there is no comparison between the armored BMW and the Suburban, other than price. The price difference is significant. We question whether the BMW is a high-risk environment vehicle. What are your thoughts?

If you have written a book or article, there’s a chance AI has already scanned it, and that means parts of it might be available to anyone using AI.
There’s an article from The Atlantic with a handy search tool. Just type in your name, and it’ll tell you if any of your work has been included. When I tried it, I found that one of my old books had been scanned along with work by Dr. Kobetz and Elijah Shaw. My book’s pretty ancient, so I’m not too worried—but it was still surprising.

Millions of books and scientific papers are captured in the collection’s current iteration.
