Earlier this week, we welcomed members of the Roanoke County Fire Department to our Old Fort, NC manufacturing facility for a behind-the-scenes look at how their turnout gear is made.

From design and materials to craftsmanship and quality control, it was a great opportunity to share the process behind the gear they rely on every day and connect with the firefighters we proudly serve.

The Atomic Challengers put their new race gear to the test at the Firefighter Challenge Championship Series in Deerfield Beach, Florida!

Outfitted in custom AeroFlex turnouts, the team competed through the heat and humidity in gear designed for comfort, mobility, and performance. We were proud to support them as they took on the challenge.

Women In Fire 2026 reminded us how important connection, mentorship, and community are within the fire service.

We're proud of Fire-Dex's own Erika Fullick for representing our team and joining firefighters from across the country for a week filled with learning, inspiration, and meaningful conversations.

As Erika shared, it's not just about the education. It's about seeing familiar faces, meeting new ones, and building relationships that strengthen the fire service for years to come.

One Year of NFPA 1850

It's been one year since NFPA 1850 brought the selection, care, maintenance, and retirement of firefighter PPE and SCBA under one comprehensive standard. The goal was simple: make it easier for departments to manage their equipment while helping keep firefighters protected throughout the life of their gear.

Over the past year, we've seen an increased focus on routine inspections, advanced inspections, proper cleaning, documentation, and proactive maintenance. These practices help ensure PPE performs as intended when firefighters need it most.

At Fire-Dex, we're proud to support departments with PPE solutions designed for performance, durability, and long-term protection while working alongside our partners at Gear Wash to help firefighters get the most from their gear.
