* WHAT...Peak heat index values ranging from the upper 90s to lower
100s Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Overnight lows in the low to
mid 70s will provide for limited nighttime relief from the heat.

* WHERE...Portions of north central, northeast, and northwest Ohio.

* WHEN...From 2 PM this afternoon to 8 PM EDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Hot and humid conditions will continue on
Thursday, and portions of the Heat Advisory may need to be
extended.

We are saddened by this news.

The Medina Police Department extends our deepest condolences to the members of the Rittman Police Department, as well as the family, friends, and loved ones of Sgt. Scott Ries, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty overnight.

There are no words that can ease the pain of losing one of our own. Today, we stand with the entire Rittman community and our brothers and sisters in law enforcement as they mourn this heartbreaking loss.

A candlelight vigil honoring Sgt. Ries will be held tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the Rittman Police Department, 33 E. Ohio Ave., Rittman. We encourage those who are able to attend as our region comes together to honor his service, sacrifice, and memory.

Please keep Sgt. Ries' family, the Rittman Police Department, and everyone affected by this tragedy in your thoughts and prayers.
