A little PSA to all my merchant Friends out there,
RISK - Protecting Yourself Against Unauthorized Keyed Transactions
Did you know that one of the most effective ways to support a chargeback dispute for an unauthorized keyed transaction is to collect complete and accurate AVS and CVV information?
AVS (Address Verification System): AVS compares the billing address provided by the customer to the address on file with the card issuer. A matching AVS response helps validate that the person making the purchase is the legitimate cardholder
CVV (Card Verification Value): The CVV is the 3–4 digit code printed on the card. Capturing this value adds an extra layer of security by confirming the customer has the physical card in hand.
Collecting accurate AVS and CVV details can serve as strong evidence that the transaction was authorized, improving your ability to successfully dispute chargebacks.
