In September 2023, American entrepreneur Larry Connor led a team of four U.S. Air Force Pararescue Specialists in setting a Guinness World Record for the highest HALO (high altitude, low opening) formation skydive at an astounding 38,139 feet. The Alpha 5 Project combined the challenge with purpose, helping raise more than a million dollars for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation which assists the families of fallen soldiers. The Alpha 5 Project is now on permanent display at the National Museum of the United States Air Force (). Three years ago today on Sept. 28, 2023, astronaut Larry Connor and four Air Force Pararescuemen jumped from nearly 40,000 feet and linked up at 38,139 feet for a Guinness World Record in the highest HALO formation skydive, all in support of the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.

Operator Solutions led the project, coordinating 50+ specialists and tracking multiple teams across hundreds of miles, beyond line of sight, in an unpressurized environment at 40,000 feet and colder than -50°.

It's the same drive, talent and expertise we bring to every complex operation — offshore, underwater, in the desert, recovering astronauts and payloads from space, or recovering drones.

Thank you to the museum for honoring this mission. Next time you're in Dayton, go see it in person.
