I am deeply grateful to Memphis Allies of Youth Villages for featuring Leading In Life Enterprise™ and highlighting the work we have been trusted to do together.
This partnership is more than a contract to me. It is deeply personal.
I have witnessed within my own family what can happen when people are given time, opportunity, accountability, and support. I have seen lives change. I have seen painful experiences become sources of wisdom, strength, and purpose. Those experiences are part of why I believe so strongly that healthy people make healthier decisions, and healthier decisions help build healthier families and communities.
There is nothing more honorable than serving as a transformational partner in work that directly impacts people whose lives, voices, and futures matter.
Through our work with Memphis Allies, Leading In Life Enterprise™ helps participants strengthen their self-awareness, recognize how past experiences may be influencing present decisions, and develop healthier ways to think, respond, and lead their lives. We do not ignore where people have been. We help them recognize that their past does not have to control what they choose next.
Thank you to the Memphis Allies leadership, staff, and participants for trusting us to serve in this capacity. I do not take this responsibility or this recognition lightly.
Thank you to Jevonte Cortez Porter for your leadership and commitment to the building a whole Memphis!

Unresolved trauma carries consequences. It is why the phrase “hurt people hurt people” resonates. Emotional wounds are easily passed from one person to another, like a toxic baton. Kinah Burks, founder of Leading in Life Enterprise (LLE), a Memphis Allies partner, understands this truth.
