Turns out that dusty white coating on blueberries is NOT dirtโitโs actually a natural shield called the "bloom"! It protects the berries from drying out and blocks bacteria. If blueberries don't have that white coating, they might have been over-handled or washed too early (which makes them spoil faster)!
