Your Executive Assistant shouldn’t just manage your calendar.

You can teach the process. You can’t train someone into having a good attitude.

Skills can be developed. Systems can be taught. Expectations can be clarified.

But if someone comes in with a bad attitude, doesn’t want to be a team player, or constantly brings negativity into the team, no amount of SOPs will fix that.

That’s why building a great remote team starts with the right person AND the right training.

Once you have the right person, your responsibility as a leader kicks in.

Give them clear instructions. Document your preferences. Build the guides. Let them learn how you operate. And understand that there will be a learning curve.

You might take two steps backward at first.

But with the right person, the right attitude, and the right systems in place, those two steps back can turn into 100 steps forward.
