The City of Fort Bragg welcomes two outstanding team members who were officially sworn in today!

Dorothy Jess steps into the role of City Clerk / HR Analyst. She will support the City Clerk and Human Resources offices, strengthening the administrative backbone that keeps our city operations running smoothly. 🗂️

Alexander Renteria joins us as our Broadband Systems Technician - Transitional. Alexander will play a key role in connecting homes and businesses to our newly installed MCN high‑speed fiber network, helping bring reliable, cutting‑edge connectivity to our community. 🌐

Service Restored Update - May 7. 2026

Open Air Services have been restored about 3:15 AM after an AT&T Fiber outage

MCN is currently experiencing an outage affecting Open Air services due to an upstream fiber issue. The outage seems to be part of a larger coast-wide disruption.
We have tickets open with AT&T and are actively monitoring the situation. Thank you for your understanding

📢 Service Update – Senior Center Access Point

Last night, the North and South Access Points at the Senior Center stopped passing traffic, which may have caused slower or reduced service for some users.

The good news: MCN implemented backup equipment to keep you online. While service may currently be operating at a reduced rate, connectivity has been maintained.

To ensure continued service, MCN crews were dispatched to the roof of the Senior Center on Christmas Day to address the issue and work toward full restoration.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to keep everyone connected, especially during the holidays. 🎄💙

We experienced a brief loss of connectivity overnight for our Open Air customers. We're happy to report that all services have now been fully restored, and everything is back to normal. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

If you’re still experiencing issues, please start by restarting your equipment.

On September 22, 2025, the City of Fort Bragg proudly welcomed its newest team member — Sage Statham — as he took his Oath of Office. Sage joins the organization as the City’s first Director of Broadband and Digital Infrastructure!

City Manager Isaac Whippy has hired Sage to assist in launching Fort Bragg’s new municipal broadband initiative, a critical step toward expanding high-speed internet access and strengthening the community’s digital infrastructure.

While this is Sage’s first time working for the City, it’s not his first experience with MCN. He began as a technician with MCN in 1997 and later served as its Manager for nearly a decade, bringing a wealth of knowledge and leadership to this new role.
