Received a call from a customer that received notification that there backflow device was no in compliance and required replacement. Upon further investigation and about 15 minutes of clearing overgrown brush, the device was functioning properly and actually the water meter it was connected to had failed and the bottom plate had split causing a leak with a decent amount of water accumulated in the area.

This device required a full internal replacement due to incorrect parts being used causing the internal components to not function as designed. Critically important to use manufacturer replacement parts when performing repairs to ensure the device is functioning properly and within manufacturer specifications.

Couple examples of what happens when valves are operated incorrectly making the device untestable……This customer had to replace the device due to the faulty shutoff valves and internal components failing.

Someone happened to break two of the test c**k fittings on this customer’s backflow device. Should have been a simple job but ended up getting a little more involved due to the ez-out tool snapping and the remaining threads not being enough to get a grip on. Got it done though!
